♥️Me and my sister were all hyped and anticipated for our girls night out the entire week. And here we are tonight at the shahrazad restaurant in Central. the whole journey tonight is more than we could asked for. First step out of the lift right into the restaurant where it located in the second level, already we are immersed in an enchanted Lebanon palace. The restaurant is absolutely one of the most mesmerising and exotic place existed in central.
We were arranged to sat in front of a huge opened folding window, with all the crazy elegant and sophisticated ornaments and decorations. We were already dazzle and stun beyond words before even opening our menu.
With the aid of the kind waiter, we managed to ordered two Dishes and a cocktail from this exotic menu. The Cheese Sambusesk, the shahrazad Mixed grill( small ) And a cocktail with the lovliest name One thousand and one night.
The first dish we tried tonight is the Cheese Sambusek. A bite sized appetizer, look kind of like the deep fried version of Chinese Wonton but with a twisted of great cheesy favour. Crispy on the outside , melting lava cheese inside, mixed with different herbs and vegetables. A great dish for all cheese lovers.
♥️Then here come the second dish, or shall I say a pot. The house special shahrazad Mixed Grill which recommended by the waiter, served on a container beyond our imagination, a golden gilded pot looked exactly like a movie props from the Aladdin. Placed on top were all these hot and sizzling meat with a little pot of rice on the side and two flavoursome sauce come with it. For the meat it’s a combination of very tender chicken breast, juicy lamb chop, rich charcoal flavoured minced beef and surprisingly a really tasty pizza right at the bottom of all the meat. Complimenting the meat is the two exotic sauce, one with garlic and egg white, another with sesame with olive oil. All together is a truly memorable and mouth watering dish for this Lebanon night out.
Last but not least, our cocktail with the most special name one thousand and one night, a lychee flavoured cocktail, the pinkish liquor and a rose petal to top it all. A long lasting rose syrup and Citrus taste on our platelet with a large and fresh pinkish lychee right at the bottom. A real charming cocktail with a charming name.
♥️Me and my sister have the loveliest night out, which we both feel like we have been served like a princess in a gilded Lebanon palace with the sumptuous dishes and drinks. We will definitely visit this place again and probably we try their Shisha in our next visit.

Secondly we quickly ordered the cocktails which conveniently placed in the centre of the menu. Oh man, one of the best! Apple and that chilli kick really was well balanced.
Now ordinarily you don’t associate the drinks with the food as they are made by separate artists, but this was the beginning of something of a theme for the rest of the evening… the perfect, well considered balance, cool/hot, tasty/refreshingly light.
The standout performers was the aubergine hot meze which had that coolness and lightness to it from the quality oil it was infused with, and the taste was really well balanced. The strength of the goats cheese was really VERY well balanced with the delicateness of the infused aubergine flesh. Impressive.
The other new go-to dish for us was the lamb with Okra and tomato. Now this really hit the spot. All the flavours melded together and each element elevated the other. The lamb was infused and gamey flavour tempered with tomato. The tomatoes were enriched with the lamb fat (taste). And the okra just simply sucked up the sauce and yet retained it’s textural identity with some bite. I loved how there was still so extra sauce for me to find hidden inside the okra and paired well with the cardamom infused rice. This portion was ideal! The lamb on the bone was finger licking brilliant and could almost cut with a fork.
Yes. I think I’m in love.
The other items we ordered were also excellent and a big wow to the chicken liver which had this caramelisation which to me was sensational and really made the dish. I can’t tell what spices they used but the richness of the gravy is very moorish. Just a few pieces with pita bread or rice is very nice. The metallic aftertaste was well dealt with by the sauce and again I feel that caramelisation from the pan frying definitely adds a fantastic dimension to it. Portion was large, so suggest it is great for a table of 6 to share.
Anyway, the manager afterwards explained that several items were new on the menu to our surprise.
So credit to the chef who created, as I mentioned before a balance that was well considered, thoughtful and precise. Which is hard to achieve if one has ever tried to braise or stew something. But for me it stood out. I didn’t have a strong idea of the culture but through this balance, the distinctness balanced with melding of flavours is what I took away from this meal, and I look forward to experiencing this culture again. I’m not sure if that represents Lebanese cuisine, but as far as I am concerned the bar has been set.
Thanks to the manager a staff for a very friendly goodbye...
Read moreToday my friend and I’ve went Central and try Lebanese food at Shahrazad Lebanese Dining Lounge & Bar. Shahrazad gives a great environment, it’s chill and relaxing. Decorations also very nice and gives a strong Lebanon feeling.
As our main purpose is to have Lebanese food, we didn’t order alcoholic drinks even they have a lot of choice on wines and alcohol.
Grill Hallomi Cheese: It’s hard to describe the taste and sensation when you bite into it. It’s slightly chewy and rubbery, don't expect it to melt in your mouth, but squidgy in your mouth in a uniquely pleasant way. Perhaps most comparable to a thick feta in taste with a smoother texture, though the taste of halloumi is certainly unique. The saltiness fades into a strong savory bite, with a slightly creamy texture. It's delicious.
Makanek in Pomegranate Sauce: The supple sausage skins tore at the touch, oozing out crumbly moist beef that hinted distinctly of fragrant spices. Together with acidly lemon & sweet pomegranate juice, as well as wharf/onion, they perfectly match with each other and it makes makanek sausage becomes perfect!
Lamb Shank: It looks luxurious as the lamb shank is really a big one. This is a marinated lamb shank served with mash potatoes, sautéed vegetable and herbs sauce. Fragrant spices can be tasted. The meat is so lush and tender and almost falls off the bone. Mash potatoes makes the perfect soft cheesy sponge to soak up all that savory goodness. There’s just no words can actually describe the aromas, flavors and textures of this dish. It’s really flavorful and delicious.
Date on The Moon: This is a home made infused date milk. There is a thick layer of foam on top of the milk. It taste sweet as this is natural sweetness from date plum, and it is smooth is texture, very good.
Defective Korombo: Sweet and Sour in taste. It’s a good drink as Middle Eastern food is a little bit salty and spices so this drink can act as a...
