Even with the high expectations that my wife and I came to begin with, Estro delivered and excelled way beyond our wildest expectations. We tried the 3-course lunch with the addition of dessert.

Appetizer: Abalone was perfectly cooked, and white asparagus was impeccable. Bread: One of the best sourdoughs we have ever had the pleasure to enjoy, and we were especially blown away by the sheer quality of the olive oil that accompanied the bread. Pasta: For us, the highlight of the meal. I had pappardelle with Genovese ragout. Intense, concentrated layers of flavor. My wife spoke very highly of the bell pepper tagliolini too. Main: Iberico pork was flawlessly cooked, but we were even more impressed by sea bass. Crispy skin and soft flakes. Just the way it should be. Dessert & sweet ending: Strawberry dessert was absolutely to my taste, and the pistachio gelato + petit fours that ended the meal were truly a grand finale.

Service & atmosphere: It was clear from the onset that the staff cared about us a lot. We had thoroughly pleasant exchanges with our servers (Bono being the main one) as well as Graziano, the general manager, and even the head chef, Chef Antimo, over the entire course of the meal. They did not intrude our personal space at all, and yet they were cordial, friendly, and very engaging with us every step of the way. Only the highest of regards for the entire staff team.

TL;DR: Highest of recommendations on every front. Once you begin to chat with the staff and enjoy the food, you will quickly see why this place is so deserving of the Michelin star and the 50 Best Restaurants in...

We ordered two six course menus with wine pairings and they somehow forgot a course for one of us and decided to take away unfinished wines from prior courses without asking us. When we asked that they would check before taking away any wines, the accented and expert sommelier said this is how wine pairings work. I’m glad he explained that wine pairings meant we would order wines and the restaurant would be entitled to take them away whenever they deem appropriate without checking with us. Because we’ve never had wine pairings before, let alone at this starless establishment of the highest caliber. At the start of the meal, I also specifically asked that they suspend service from 9:30pm until 10pm because one of us unfortunately will need to take a work call. At 9:35pm when obviously one of us is on the phone, they served pastas. When I reminded them, another must know better than me and accented waitstaff said without apologies we must give him an exact time as to when they can re-serve the same course, because the kitchen requires it. Without wanting to disturb the ongoing call, I said fine please serve at 10pm. Of course they then completely forgot and at 10:07pm when we were obviously just waiting, they finally prepared the overcooked pasta again after we had to literally raise our hands and ask for attention. Just because you can’t speak English properly doesn’t make you an authentic and high end Italian restaurant....

I usually don’t write food review but the fantastic experience at ESTRO make me feel really like to share it! Yesterday with my two forever pretty friends, arrived this Italian restaurant that located at Duddell street Central, Chefed by Antimo_maria_merone. The decorations are very nice in softly bright, the table layout are far apart from each other which is rare in HK’s restaurants. The atmosphere is quiet and cheerful, very comfortable! Staffs are all well trained and attentive. It’s impressive that they have 4 different types of Olive oil from lightest to stronger to served with a bread basket. Our favourite appetiser is Tomato in different textures, love the watermelon and tomato water, it’s super fresh, gently sweet & sour, perhaps with little saltiness too. Truly a summer delight! The signature Bottoni is very rich and tasteful. We had Iberico port for main, which was perfectly cooked with a thin crispy outsell but soft and juicy inside, it’s probably the best port I have had! The desserts are Cappuccino and Pistachio ice cream which brought our taste journey to another level😋

The overall is such enjoyable, from the service to food presentations, outstanding tastes, ingredients, and every thoughtful...

Worst service experience and most overpriced service fee so far as a such high end restaurant in Hong Kong. We booked the private room here and brought the most precious wine ourselves looking forward to pairing with the food. Given that 6k HKD corkage fee was charged on top of additional 11% service fee, we didn’t expect that the sommelier would serve like a junior. He’s not professional at all that serve the wrong glasses to the wine and didn’t open the wine properly in the private room. Even worse, he paid low attention to the wine and us, that most of the time either standing at the door or even outside the room. We have notified the wine list earlier to the restaurant, but they didn’t prepare the pairing professionally neither. Say, basically the seafood should pair with white wine. Food wise, the amount is small, for example the prawn pasta is such a small dish with only one prawn and it’s also a bit dry. Some food taste a bit not harmonically balanced. We are very disappointed with the service and food. To be honest, it’s not to the standard it should meet how it’s charged. There is big room for them to improve.

Estro offers a truly sublime dining experience, representing Italian cuisine at its absolute finest in Hong Kong. The meal was a masterful journey through the rich and nuanced flavours of Italy, executed with impeccable technique and a profound respect for premium ingredients. The service is nothing short of superb, expertly led by the inimitable Graziano. His extensive knowledge, genuine warmth, and impeccable professionalism set the tone for an evening that felt both elegantly orchestrated and personally welcoming. Every dish spoke volumes, but the pastas were particularly extraordinary—each a testament to perfect al dente texture and beautifully balanced sauces. The desserts provided a flawless finale, offering a sophisticated play on classic Italian dolce. Complementing the cuisine is a wine selection of the highest order, a thoughtfully curated list that showcases exceptional bottles from across Italy's diverse regions. In summary, Estro is more than a restaurant; it is a definitive destination for gastronomes. An impeccable experience from start to finish, and one to which I am already eager to return.
