Happiness Single Coffee — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

I want to give this place a 5 star because the very first time I visited, the coffee was excellent. Ordered a Top Mocha, which if you don't know its not actually a mocha but rather a siphon black coffee. It was aromatic, and the taste was very unique and not watered down. I went back 2-3 subsequent visits because I had such a good first coffee and was hoping to drink it again. It was never brewed as good as the first time. I went back one last time, because I had spoke highly of their coffee to a friend that really enjoys black coffee's. We finally went together, and he ordered the Top Mocha, to our disappointment, it was overheated, watered down and simply put, not worth the $60 premium pricing. We tried raising this issue quietly and diplomatically to the store owner (the older lady) and she responded by raising her voice and putting another customer on the spot, saying she brewed both cups together, do you taste any bitterness? DO YOU?! DO YOU?! Causing quite a scene in a small shop environment. In the end she just walked off to the kitchen area and never came back out. I don't care how good your reputation is or how good your coffee can be SOMETIMES, if this is your attitude when a customer tells you there are not happy with your food/drinks, we will never come back. There are a number of seemingly delicious sandwich options on the menu, and I chose this Corned Beef & Egg Sandwich to try. For HKD$35, the portion of sandwich was surprisingly huge! Lovely! (I was just expecting half the portion, oh you know…food in Hong Kong isn’t cheap…)

I love everything about this sandwich! The bread was nicely toasted. The corned beef was rightly flavored and not overly salty. And the egg was perfectly seasoned with black pepper! It really is a sandwich that brings you happiness! Definitely coming back for their sandwiches, as well as trying...

Wow this place is such a gem! Lovely owner who provides great service. The milk tea is some of the nicest I’ve had: perfectly fragrant tea, creamy and not sweetened so you can adjust the sugar level as you like. Plus she makes ice cubes from the same tea if you order it iced, so that no watering down occurs! Sandwiches are delicious, bread is toasted in a pan so it’s perfectly crispy, and eggs are just right with herbs and cheese if you like 😋 We also ordered tomato soup noodles with over easy eggs (she gives you two) and okra, so fresh and each ingredient cooked perfectly well. My husband loved the coffee, said the quality is great. We brought our 18 month old daughter, and they were so kind and welcoming of a baby here too, we will be coming back...
