Went to this resto in Sai Ying Pun for dinner with colleagues. . For appetizer, we got Ox Tongue Tacos. The tacos was mouthful. The ox tongue was in a thick dice shape, and the smoked guacamole in the tortilla moderated the greasiness of the ox tongue.

For pasta, we ordered Wagyu Cheek Bourguignon and Cherry Tomatoes and Ricotta.

The wagyu cheek was super soft and savoury with the bourguignon sauce. The al dente texture, tgt with the aromatic eggy smell of the pasta, enhanced one's appetite. Comparatively, the Cherry Tomatoes and Ricotta was not that memorable. It tasted rather plain.

We then got Boneless Three Yellow Chicken for main dish. Roasted with charcoal aubergine, the chicken was smooth and really juicy. Liked how the pistachio enhanced some sweetness to the dish.

For dessert, we had Barley Tea & Mochi and Chocolate & Coffee. The dessert came with a small portion and was quite pricey. They were a bit mediocre compared to their pasta and tacos. . The resto was a bit small and quite popular, so one needs to book a table prior if u would like to...

Impressive ~ fresh and tasty homemade pastas👍 Recently dined at Mangia and enjoyed its food and environment. The atmosphere of Mangia is casual and cozy, no fancy decor, all simple but comfortable. The staff members are extremely friendly and service was good. In terms of the foods I have ordered, from the creamy pumpkin and carrot soup as a starter, to the tiger prawns Aglio Olio as a main, was delicious; plus dessert, the homemade puffs (mini 菠蘿包) filled with fresh berry cream no doubt completed a happy meal. Such cooking standard is much impressed.

As a all time pasta favourite, the quality of this bistro's homemade pastas and flavours in the foods normally can easily be found in an expensive restaurant/hotel but usually not in a local restaurant located in an old building in Sai Ying Pun. I further viewed their dinner menu, a variety of interesting tapas dishes. Tired of this Covid policy it's about time to meet up friends... I am looking forward to visiting Mangia for a delicious meal soon again with family...

Quality homemade al dente pasta with fresh ingredients beautifully cooked by the Chef, pleasant environment, polite staff, good service. We will surely be back again!

We recently went to Mangia again and had a sumptuous meal 👍 We had a variety set of tapas including burrata in chilli dressing, slow-cooked chicken wrap, steak tartar, octopus mixed with roasted pumpkins, roasted tender beef with peruvian chocolate sauce garnished with padron peppers, and creamy cauliflower soup. To compliment the meal, we ordered three signature homemade pastas including Hokkaido crab meat and sea urchin, clams with extra virgin olive oil, and slow-cooked beef and tripe. In summary, this was the most satisfying Western meal I had, in a small local restaurant, in recent years. Especially during the long unwanted pandemic period. With the quality foods, the cosy ambience and very reasonable price (yet no service fees) I would recommend Mangia to pastas and tapas...
