Pret A Manger — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

Pret Manager is a UK based chain that has done quite well in Hong Kong, we have a fair number of branches around the city, with a heavier concentration on Hong Kong island. Food is supposedly prepared using chemical free, fresh ingredients. No idea if this is true or not but sandwiches we've bought have been quite tasty.

We don't eat Pret A Manger that often but often wish we did. Sandwiches are usually fresh, taste pretty good and well priced. You can also pick up standard salads, platters, fresh juices and the like from Pret A Manager.

Seating at Pret A Manager is usually quite standard, nothing to be excited or complain about. We've usually just grabbed a sandwich or baguette to go before heading off to the outdoor seating area outside the IFC mall. Lee Garden branch is also quite good.

Overall, can't recall picking up food here that we were unhappy with. The dining experience itself is just standard, like any other take-away/seating sandwich shop might be. Pret is always my savior when I'm out and about, I particularly enjoy pret as there are many vegan options available here and they are all clearly labelled and made incredibly easy to identify 😊 I always enjoy the soups here and on my most recent visit I tried the red pepper and sriracha soup which so far has to be my favourite. The service is always speedy and staff are super friendly, because it is a spot for a quick bite or takeaway you dont really get the opportunity to engage in conversation with the staff but you are always greeted with a smile. I find the prices reasonable especially by hong kong standard, my soup today was only 29$ and super yummy and super filling. In the past I have tried other items such as the overnight oats, chia pudding pot, and an italian styled sandwich, I am always pleased with the food and service here and find it a godsend when I'm about in the city and need a quick bite to eat! Awful coffee and appalling customer service. We ordered a hot & cold latte with coconut milk at Pret A Manager IFC yesterday ie 15.09.2025 . Both turned out to be very watery and didn’t taste like anything like coconut milk but left a weird after taste in our mouths. I commented on it and the staff rudely said ‘it is how it is like. If you don’t like it, put it down into the drain.’ We didn’t touch the coffee after all, they cost $82. There was zero customer service; the staff didn’t say a word throughout the time we entered, ordered and left the coffee shop. We asked for tap water, and we were given boiling hot water. It must have been a joke. One staff was on his phone at the cashier and at times there was no one on duty at the order counter. We utterly disappointed at Pret, didn’t feel welcome as customers....
