Super average in quality but high in price. Black Mould/ Mold growing in air conditioning unit and on wall paper, very dirty and old. I find this unacceptable for a restaurant at this price point. If you have allergies I would advise stay away from this restaurant. Chawanmushi is bland in taste compared to most other Japanese restaurants. Avoid udon in soup, it was over cooked and soft in texture. Saw a youtuber recommend this restaurant’s udon but they had cold udon, so avoid the udon in broth and go for cold udon instead. Luckily sashimi is fresh and of good quality. Service is of average quality. Nothing bad or good to comment. Safe to say will never return because of the average quality of food and black mould/mold.

Used to be one of my favourite izakaya place in HK but my recent visit is abit disappointing. I suspected they have change owner/chef since it was a local Hong Kong chef behind the counter not the previous Japanese owner. Tensho is always on the expensive side for its setting but their food is up to the standard you would expect. Today was not bad but it just misses that attention to detail and some of the food was slightly too greasy. My main complain is that their thin slice sashimi (薄切) was not thin slice at all, you could hardly see the plate!

I went to this restaurant for lunch on a Saturday. They offer a lot of lunch set choices. We tried Grilled Beef set this time and it tastes good. The cost is quite high but considering that they are located in the heart of CWB, it’s understandable and the food quality is good. It is a perfect place to go if you are looking for a lunch restaurant that’s not too crowded and more quiet in causeway bay.

This is NOT a fine dining and this is why you need to go there. The food is impeccably executed, the serving is generous and with top ingredients. I took the sashimi on rice, absolutely delicious. The 3 main things that are executed by the chef in this dish (apart from the sashimi that are fresh and very well selected) are the rice (incredible), the egg sushi (best I had so far and very difficult to execute well) and the wasabi (blew my mind, home made, different taste altogether, an experience in itself). Price is reasonable and the meal includes free tea all along the meal, salad, hot custard, miso and fresh and crunchy pears to conclude on a subtle note of sweet and clean the palate. Awesome. Bravo chef and team (i didn’t mention the service that is...
