Galbi Town is specializes in grilled meats, especially galbi, which are marinated beef ribs. The owner and the staff are all Korean.
One thing that i like korean food is that they have alot of side dishes and every dish have its uniqueness.
Hanwoo Ribeye: This is a premium cut of beef that is tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The meat is sliced thin and cooked on a grill, giving it a nice smoky aroma. You can dip it in some sesame oil and salt, or wrap it in lettuce leaves with some garlic and ssamjang (a spicy soybean paste).
Wang Galbi: This is another type of beef rib, but larger and bone-in. The meat falls off the bone easily, and it's so tasty that you don't need any sauce or condiments.
Fresh Vegetables Platter: This is a refreshing side dish that comes with various kinds of lettuce, herbs and other. You can use them to make your own wraps with the meat, or just eat them as a salad.
Bibim Nangmyeon: The noodles are thin and chewy, and mixed with a spicy sauce made from gochujang (red pepper paste), vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil. The dish also has some sliced beef, egg, cucumber, kimchi and pear for extra texture and flavor. It's refreshing, tangy, and spicy at the same time.
Sundubu Jjigae: This is a soft tofu stew that is served in a hot stone pot. The tofu is silky and smooth, and the broth is spicy and savory. The stew also has some seafood, such as clams, shrimp, and squid, as well as some vegetables, such as zucchini, onion, and scallion. It's a hearty and comforting dish that goes well with rice.
Pear Juice: This is a fresh and natural juice made from Korean pears. The juice is sweet and crisp, and it helps cleanse your palate after eating the barbecue.
The food is authentic, delicious, and satisfying, and the service is friendly...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant for a celebration dinner on Friday night. We had made reservation, but we see other guests walking in and able to get a table. Once we were seated, we ordered the Premium Hanwoo Set, standalone marinated galbi, and seafood pancake.
The beef quality of the Hanwoo set was excellent. The marinated galbi was delicious, and the marinade allowed the beef to retain its texture. It definitely tasted better than other more lower end Korean BBQ we have been to. We would definitely order the galbi again for a more casual dinner, and it’s also available as a takeaway package.
The staff grilled all our beef, so we are happy to he doing less work. But the pacing was a bit rushed. They didn’t ask if we wanted to take a break between the different types of meat. All the staff were friendly and tried to get us seated or served as soon as possible. We put in the order through a tablet on the table. There was minimal interaction or instructions from the staff. I think would feel better if they would let us know what to expect in a few words.
Overall, I liked the food here. I would come back for a casual dinner to try other beef cuts or hot food. I think there is room for improvements for...
Read moreThis place was enjoyable and we were having a blast until the staff decided to come in and flip our meat. My husband is a chef so he knows how to cook meat in a certain way that i love to eat it. Not to mention when we ordered the hot stone bibimbap we really enjoyed eating from the hot stone as the rice was soft and delicious however the staff decided to take it away from us when we are not done eating. we felt is very disrespectful and very impatient towards us.
After eating the bibimbap, my husband proceeded to cook the beef short rip but a different staff decided to come again and throw away our meat that is still attached to the bone and this meat cost 400HKD.
To our experience and our first impression, this made us feel that the shop was rushing us to get the hell out from here. Furthermore is 2hours before their closing time which doesn’t make sense. This experience was horrible and please think twice before coming here as the staff is not friendly. There is a water bottle section that was free, but we overheard that the customer was leaving and being shouted at “IS NOT FREE”. One say free another say not.. very...
