Nice Japanese restaurant and a great for gathering! I ordered Salmon Kushikatsu; it is really fresh, the taste was good! Chicken and shiso Kushikatsu, with the accompany of shiso, the taste standouts a lot; the outer layer of the Kushikatsu fried very crisply, I really like the texture! Rice Cake Kushikatsu; the combination is really interesting . it is very chewy for the rice cake inside with crispy fried outer layer. Also, I really like Scallop Kushikatsu, the scallop is really fresh and meaty, The taste of the scallop matches perfectly with the crisps outside! Chicken Breast and soft bone Kushiyaki; the chicken breast is nice with the Kushiyaki sauce on top, the soft bone is crunchy, easy to bite. Chicken wings Kushiyaki, very easy to eat as they took out the bones for you, the chicken wings skewered well with the sauce. I ordered pork Kushiyaki: the pork is well-grilled makes it very juicy with the fat -free meat. i also like the main dish, Hot Udon: I thought it is an ordinary udon but it was a bit spicy because of the ginger sauce which is from the traditional Japanese Udon recipe! The taste is special!

Absolutely wanna try over and over again! Have been to the Wan Chai branch before and now newly opens in Tsim Sha Tsui , so come with friends to taste again. The restaurant environment like Japanese bar, which is really a great place to chill out with friends and try tasty skewers! Recommend the must-eats items as below: 1. Rice cake ($21) sticky and chewy 2. Chicken Wings ($23) large and juicy 3. Half-cooked eggs ($23) crispy with juicy egg yolk. 4. Salmon Roe ($39) 5. Beef tongue ($27) 6. Grilled Onigri ($23) 7. Dessert: Yuzu Sherbet ($19)

Kushikatsu means fried skewers in English. Not many Japanese restaurant in Hong Kong serve this Osaka delicacy. Jan Jan is one of them and the food here is very nice too. Like a Japanese bar, the environment is very comfy and relaxing. Not only Kushikatsu, the grilled skewers are also delicious. Another must try item is the grilled beef rice. The perfectly cooked beef is wonderful. Adding raw egg makes the whole rice bowl even more tasty and rich in favours.

I would highly recommend the following dishes: 🍤Salmon roe($39): Inside the seafood ball was scallop and prawn, and it’s topped with tartar sauce and salmon roe. 🦐Angel Prawn ($39): This had a very rich prawn taste, and the prawn had a nice firm texture🤩 🥚 half cooked egg($23) pic2: the egg white was nice and soft, while the egg yolk was perfectly runny 😋 🐓 chicken and shiso($21): The chicken was tender, and it went so well with the fragrant shiso leave

The panko crust at this place was crispy, thin and most importantly, not too oily!

Personally, I think the fried dishes (kushikastsu) from this restaurant were much nicer than the grilled dishes (kushiyaki). I tried the grilled duck breast with scallion (very chewy) and grilled bacon wrapper salmon (over cooked), and I didn’t enjoy either of them..

🧐 Kushikatsu (串カツ), also known as kushiage (串揚げ), is a Japanese dish of deep-fried skewered meat and vegetables. In Japanese, kushi (串) refers to the skewers used while katsu means a deep-fried cutlet of meat.
