It was our last night in Hong Kong (mid-April 2018). My fiancé and I were looking for a place for Peking duck and chose this restaurant because it had decent ratings and they allow a half duck order (most restaurants require you to order a full duck, which is way too much for 2 people).
We waited almost TWO HOURS for our duck. Sorry to put it in caps but I’m still annoyed thinking back on it. After the first hour we kept asking our waiters for the status and they kept saying 5 more minutes. At this point we had finished eating (we also ordered their signature noodle dish and some greens).
We asked to cancel so that we can leave for an early flight the next morning and yet they kept saying 5 more minutes.
On one hand, we didn’t want to leave and not pay for something we ordered but on the other hand we were getting pretty annoyed for having to wait that long. It finally came and by then we were definitely not hungry anymore.
Other than that, the food was overall too greasy for my taste.
I would not recommend it and will definitely not be going back when I visit...
Read moreWe ordered a dinner set for 12 people, but the food portions are too large that we were not able to finish it eventhough our group have the exact number of 12 people, we were thinking perhaps 16 people would be much more able to finish the whole set. The taste of food generally are not stunning at all when compare to its' price, which is quite disappointing. Would like to recommend the dessert Gaoli Dousha, which is a deep fried donut like bun wrapped with red bean paste (which we called that dousha in mandarin, dau sa in cantonese), coated with sugar. The dish is not too sweet and you can smell the wonderful sweet aroma from the yeast. The dumpling (JiaoZi) will also be my other fav throughout the whole meal tonight. The juicy chopped pork and the meat soup is wrapped by thin and chewy skin, creating a great symphony for the dumpling. After trying one dumpling in its original flavour, I would recommend you trying to dip the dumpling into some black vinegar, which makes the meat dumpling become a bit lighter...
