I had heard great things about this burger joint from friends, but I was initially hesitant to try it because I had seen that they serve the food in a paper bag. I thought this meant the restaurant was overcharging for a takeaway-style experience. However, I decided to give it a try when I was at the K11 branch.
Upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive customization options - there were 15 different toppings to choose from! This made it quite difficult to decide what to order at first. While waiting for my order, I was happy to find that they offer complimentary peanuts, which were not the typical Chinese peanuts, but had a wonderful, rich peanut butter-like flavor.
I ended up ordering a cheeseburger and a hot dog, along with fries. The fries were absolutely delicious - they seemed to be made from whole potatoes that were fried with the skins still on, resulting in an incredibly crispy and satisfying texture. Although the prices were a bit higher than a typical fast food joint, I felt the quality justified the cost.
The cheeseburger had two beef patties with melted cheese, and all the toppings were very fresh and flavorful. The hot dog was also excellent, with a nicely chargrilled sausage that had a wonderful...
Read moreQuite a big and popular place, and it was packed at lunch time. We enjoyed the two burgers - bacon burger and cheeseburger - with the various toppings. They tasted clean and fresh and were juicy. The fries were very good, and we wish we had ordered more. (In other countries like the UK, they actually topped up the fries, but not in HK). You can re-top your drinks from the vending point, with no problem.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the meals here can be expensive, but the ingredients and the meats used are really good.
The ordering system can be improved with self ordering machines, and the 15 or so toppings choices take quite a bit of time to decide and communicate with the cashier. Another point of improvement could be a visible numbering system at the collection point, as the staff had to keep shouting out the numbers but it was difficult to hear due to the loud music and the conversation...

Wife said, "Hey, have you tried Five Guys already? Since you're a burger freak..."
Me said, "Yeah, why not?"
Hong Kong is a food heaven, also a food junkyard if you're not careful enough. Located in K11, one of the newest Five Guys in town, serving literally junk food out of the kitchen.
The burger itself being wrapped in a thin foil, in just mere minutes of time, the bun soaked up all the moisture like a wet diaper. And yet, the slogan said, "THE BEST BURGER YOU'VE EATEN IN YOUR LIFE"
I must say, whoever said that, must have had childhood trauma.
The fries, OMG, do you live under a well?
When a McDonald's burger is better than you, then you know how junk you're.
