I'd never tried Taipo Momos before, but was excited to try them when I saw it listed in the menu. They have a thicker dough than regular dumplings, like a big brother of the momo, with the size of 3 regular fried momos equating to one Taipo momo, and when paired with the red-chili pepper Tibetan chutney, explodes with flavor. I sampled their fried momos as well, each set comes with 8 and they were just as phenomenal for the same reasons. The prices are pretty reasonable, their momos are MSG free, and I'm somewhat of a scaredy-cat when it comes to spiciness level, but was able to enjoy the Tibetan chutney without breaking too much of a sweat. The food is perfect for takeout. As for service, they were speedy, hospitable, and while I paid cash, they accept credit cards and Alipay. All in all, it was a great experience, especially when sampling foods at the Night Temple Market and I'll be back again during my stay in Hong Kong in Kowloon.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I recently had the pleasure of trying Halal Tibetan food in Hong Kong, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience! This was my first time indulging in Tibetan cuisine, and I’m so glad I made the choice to visit. While the restaurant primarily focuses on takeaway, they also offer cozy dine-in options on the second floor, which truly feels like home. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal. Mr. Hanif, the owner, has done an incredible job since opening the restaurant just 1.5 years ago. The unique menu options are a delightful surprise for anyone seeking Halal food in the city. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor and authenticity. I highly recommend this gem to all Halal foodies looking to explore something different. The deliciousness of the food alone is worth the visit! Don’t miss out on this culinary adventure!

Never had such a service before. The people were extremely sweet and caring. It was more like a homely vibe. Sat at the table next to their counter and they ensured we enjoyed our meal. One sweet lady offered extra complementary soup just so that we don’t run out of soup and it gets dry (even though we couldn’t even finish the soup we had initially). Another lady offered us complementary naan bread (not sure exactly what it was called) but it was delicious. When they found we travelled on bus to get here, they offered us more bread and even fruit to take with us on our way back. But this was way too much hospitality and we had to respectfully decline. On top, food was delicious. Very big portions. Most importantly for us, it was halal certified. Would definitely visit again and recommend others to visit too.

Authentic Himalayan Flavors with a Halal Twist

*Owned by Mohammed, My Kitchen Tibetan Halal Fast Food is a vibrant culinary pitstop in Central, blending Tibetan and Northeast Indian traditions with a Halal-certified menu. Mohammed’s mission? To introduce Hong Kong to the bold, soulful flavors of the Himalayas while ensuring inclusivity for Muslim diners and spice enthusiasts alike.

Menu Highlights** 🌶️ Mohammed’s kitchen stays true to Himalayan roots while catering to Hong Kong’s fast-paced lifestyle. Must-tries: Halal Beef Momos: Juicy, hand-folded dumplings with a fiery tomato-chili dip. Chicken Thukpa: Aromatic noodle soup with tender chicken, spinach, and ginger. Lamb Thenthuk: Chewy hand-pulled noodles in a rich mutton broth, spiced with cumin and cloves. Veggie Tingmo Combo: Fluffy Tibetan steamed bread served with a trio of dips (spinach, lentil, and chili). Halal Chicken Biryani: Fragrant Northeast Indian-style rice layered with saffron and caramelized onions.

Budget-Friendly: Mains range from HKD 65–130. The “Himalayan Lunch Box” (momos + thukpa + lassi for HKD 95) is a crowd favorite.

Mohammed partners with Halal-certified suppliers in Hong Kong and imports spices directly from Sikkim and Darjeeling. Dishes like Aloo Phing (crispy noodles with potatoes) and Sel Roti (rice doughnuts) use plant-based oils, ensuring no cross-contamination.

Mohammed’s passion shines through stories shared while he serves. Ask him about his family’s momo recipe or the significance of butter tea in Tibetan culture!

Vegetarian/Vegan Options: Try the mushroom thali or dal khichdi (spiced lentils and rice).

My Kitchen Tibetan Halal Fast Food fills a unique gap in Hong Kong’s dining scene. Whether you’re a Muslim traveler seeking Halal comfort food, a local craving bold spices, or a curious foodie, Mohammed’s humble spot delivers authenticity,...

🏔️ I know little about Tibet, other than it’s a region in the Himalayas and home to the Dalai Lama.. So, it’s all the more surprising to learn that Tibet was once its own vast empire where at its height in the 780s-790s, controlled a territory stretching across modern-day Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Burma, China, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.. I’ve not been to the Tibet region nor the various surrounding places such as Bhutan and Nepal, but hope to go there someday for a food adventure.. For now, let’s see what Tibetan food would taste like right here in 🇭🇰Hong Kong…

🍽️ Traditional Tibetan cuisine is uniquely shaped by its high altitude environment of the Tibetan plateau; hence the ample use of goat, yak, mutton, cheese (often from yak or goat milk), butter, yogurt; and also dumplings, noodles and soups. “My Kitchen” is a tiny Halal Tibetan eatery run by owner Hanief in Jordan. They usually do takeout, but have a bigger comfortable space upstairs for bigger groups (and by reservation only).. Ever searching for new flavour experiences, my curiosity led me here to sample for the first time a Tibetan Chicken Noodle Soup known as the 🍜Thukpa.. And it was a hearty bowlful of flavours! Smoky, tangy and spicy all at once… On the side, I also tried the 🥟Shabaley - a dumpling-looking bread/ puff pastry stuffed with meat and vegetables; and washed down with cup of 🧈Tibetan Po Cha aka Butter Tea.....

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Taste of Tibet in Hong Kong That’s Worth Crossing Oceans For!

My visit to My Kitchen (Halal Tibetan Food) was an absolute highlight of my Hong Kong trip! From the moment I stepped in, the warm hospitality and impeccable service made me feel like family. The owner went above and beyond—not only guiding us through the menu with passion but also sharing recommendations for other halal eateries in the city. Their kindness didn’t stop there; after raving about the food, they even messaged me cooking instructions to recreate their magic at home!

Now, let’s talk about the food—WOW. The Chicken Chilli Momo was bursting with flavor, perfectly spiced, and so delicious it had us licking the plate. The Beef Thukpa was soul-warming comfort in a bowl, with tender meat and aromatic broth that left us craving more. It was so divine, we returned the very next day after our trip to victoria for another round!

This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The owner’s dedication to quality, halal authenticity, and heartfelt service is unmatched. If I could, I’d book a flight to Hong Kong just to eat here again. My Kitchen isn’t just a meal; it’s a memory and was one of the most difficult Ramadhan cravings Don’t miss it—whether you’re a traveler or a local, this gem deserves all the love! 🥟✨

P.S. Thank you for making my trip unforgettable—see you again soon...
