We came there based on the positive reviews. The prices were shocking but we stayed since we were hoping for a great gastronomical experience.
Well, that didn’t happen. Instead, they served us tasteless food that lacked salt and flavor. We have never had such tasteless calmaries and patatas bravas. Even in the cheap hole in the wall restaurants they do it better.
What came next was even worse. We’ve given the feedback about the food. The chef came out to apologized and confirmed that the dishes were indeed tasteless and he will talk to his team about it. And that of course, we shouldn’t pay for it.
When it came time to pay the bill, the 2 dishes we’ve complained about were included and they expected us to pay for them. The chef came out from the kitchen to talk to us, confirming that he tasted them and they were bad, apparently didn’t matter.
The restaurant staff insisted that we pay for it.
I normally don’t complain and don’t send back the dishes. However, this time the quality was so low and the chef, agreed with us.
How can a restaurant with the prices this high and being a part of the 4 seasons hotel be so ignorant to the customer experience?
We had to fight tooth and nail to get those dishes from our bill and in the end we’ve managed.
The staff has completely changed their attitude as we were leaving going from friendly and welcoming to cold and ignorant. Didn’t even say goodbye.
I’m now sure these reviews are fake because there’s no way the place with this treatment towards their customers is getting such high rating.
I would strongly discourage anyone from going to this place. You will get scammed and if you complain, they will not listen.
Shame on you and shame on the Four Seasons for allowing this to happen. I will never step my foot into any of your hotels and will keep...
Read moreVery very good, though slightly overpriced. Food is good, service is amazing, location is great, and place is very nice. However, as said, overpriced, and also
I tried the "Tostas de morcilla" (Blood Sausage Toasts) which are made with real Spanish pure blood sausage, not Colombian rice and peas rendition, and honestly one of the best blood sausage-inspired dishes I've ever had.
The "Croquetas de mero" (Grouper Croquettes) were far from the traditional idea of a croquette, and actually much closer to soft balls not so tasty, not dissapointing but almost.
"Empanada gallega de pulpo" (Galician Octopus Empanada) was an amazing surprise, delicious, cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, fully recommended.
Curiously for a Spanish restaurant, "Tortilla española" (Spanish Tortilla) was good but just good, being the slice of Serrano ham the best of it. Kind of dry, and definitely missing some pepper.
Salmon as main dish was great, perfect balance between cooked and raw, with side of bell pepper risotto (acceptable though not the best) and grilled asparagus (those were great). Another fully recommended dish.
And finally, creamy rice as dessert. Made with thick milk, cream, rice, and grapefruit essence, it is a very good dessert, quite...
Read moreCastanyoles is a beatiful hotel restaurant located inside of the Four Seasons Casa Medina in Bogota. The hotel used to be a colonial style house that is well mantained and offers a very luxurious and antique feeling. The restaurant has an amazing ilumination at night, furniture is amazing and is connected to some open terraces if you want to drink/eat outside. The food style is based on traditional spanish cousine, the paella mixta is amazing and the miguelitos dessert is one of the best I've taste in the latest months. The menu is not so big but have a reasonable options for vegans also. Drknks are nice and finally the service is very good and attentive with guests. It's quite expensive but very good for...
