Camino Real — Restaurant in Quindío

DO NOT RECOMMEND this place; they can’t even do a “trucha frita con patacon” making the excuse of having it only grilled for not losing the flavor (which for me did not taste well nor was worth the waste of money). We were a group of 10+ people. All the other restaurants do make this traditional dish (which is what you go to Salento for) and for our experience, they taste better and are not even greasy as the rest of the dishes in this restaurant. Other 2 items to consider are the lack of taste (it seemed that they did not even use salt in any of the plates) as well as the cleanliness (one of the dises had some wired sponged strings on it) and the wooden table had black marks of boots in the middle of it. Other workers in this restaurant do a good job and can be hard workers as well as friendly, but it all goes to management and their lack of common sense, cleanliness, ownership and service to the customer. Horrible experience. The restaurant was empty when we arrived. We ordered drinks, after ten minutes the waiter came and re-questioned what we had ordered, so we repeated. I was starving so ordered food too. After more than 50 minutes, ive asked where is my food, but then noticed our waiter was completely wasted and was barely standing on his feet. He didn't put my order through and asked what i wanted again. It made me furious, as i was still hungry and it was getting late as all other places were getting shut for the day. I said to other workers, that our waiter is completely drunk and I hadn't received my order, but they didn't react at all. So definitely wont...

This is genuinely one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food was incredible, the service is amazing and the food comes out so quick. We ate here twice during our stay and ordered the beef and the chicken brochette, the creole potato entree, the broccoli crema del dia, coffee and the limonada natural. Everything was incredible! My favourite was the broccoli crema del dia, the limonada and coffee is also to die for. My partner had the beef brochette twice it was so good!! Genuinely heartbroken I can’t bring this place home.
