This place is rather difficult to rate. The owners are incredibly sweet, welcoming, helpful and overall being the perfect hosts. The free breakfast was among the best during our verx long trip through Colombia - we got fresh fruits and french toast that I'm still dreaming about until this day. The common rooms and dorms are very nicely decorated and cozy. The only real downside is that the private rooms are in the basement, i.e. no windows, stagnant air and a very basement-like smell. There are two rooms next to each other and you need to cross through to reach the bathroom, which wasn't a problem because there were no other guests but might cause some privacy issues otherwise. The room was also not very clean, seemed as if they weren't really prepared for guests. Our impression was that they didn't get our reservation through booking.com but gave us a room anyway because it was free. The best option might be to a) call instead of booking online to make sure they get the reservation and b) ask for the private room upstairs (there is one that was already occupied at the time) if you're not looking to stay...
Read moreWe had high expectations of the hostel because it had such high ratings on both Tripadvisor and Hostelword but we were quite disappointed.||The dorm we slept in was quite noisy: you could hear people from outside and there was no wall between the dorm and the living room. The showers were warm (but you can't use them at the same time) but there was never soap or a towel and there was always a small pool of water in one of them. There were also problems with the wifi when we were there.||Furthermore, they said breakfast was from 7 onwards but don't count on it. The old lady makes the breakfast, which is really good, but it just takes quite long because she puts a lot of time in it and prepares it one by one. So take this into account when you want to leave early in the morning to the Cocora Valley.||The old lady and other woman are superfriendly and are always smiling and I'm sure they try their best. The only point I want to make is that it is a fine hostel with all the basic necessities, but it's just not worth...
