Where do I start? Awful and rude service, horrible experience & vegan pizza was less than mediocre at best. A big group of us booked a table ahead of time and made a pre-order beforehand so the kitchen wouldn’t be too overwhelmed. We basically all got the vegan pizzas and they brought them out very slowly so some people got their pizzas way before others. Another two people in our group didn’t get theirs until the very end when everyone was already done. Then they pretended to have given the pizzas to them already when clearly they did NOT have a pizza in front of them?! Essentially accusing us of having gotten all the pizzas when clearly two people hadn’t. Not sure how they messed up so royally when we had sent them our order way in advance and we all basically got the same thing. Can they not count? They finally brought out the pizzas when everyone else was ready to pay. Later on when we all lined up to pay ONE BY ONE, every one of us paid and they tried to say that there was one pizza left when we clearly had taken turns to pay for each of our orders. Not only that, while we were having dinner, the server said they “made a mistake” on a cocktail and accidentally made one so asked if we wanted it- so one of us said sure, we will take it if you’re gonna throw it away. And later on they CHARGED us for the cocktail and we asked why we were getting charged, they said they were selling us the cocktail, not giving it to us. Essentially making us pay for their mistake without informing us beforehand. Oh and not sure how anyone thought the vegan pizza was delicious but it was less than mediocre at best, lacking flavour and sauce and I don’t know where the vegan cheese was? It was also cold for having pre-ordered and the pizza coming out slowly one at a time. Not to mention the restaurant wasn’t even busy so i can’t understand how they were so incompetent and...
Read moreHonestly baffled by the good reviews of the pizza here. I love a wood fired pizza moment and given the limited vegan options around Monteverde our group was stoked to get a reservation here. Since we were a large party (15ish) we placed our orders in advance so as not to overwhelm the staff. We all ordered the vegan pizzas since there weren’t many other options. When we showed up, we were “greeted” rather coldly. At the suggestion of our server, we ordered 4 orders of focaccia as an appetizer, but were then told it would come out AFTER the pizzas, since they were already in process. Ok cool, no problem. Yet then the focaccia arrived first. It was tasty, no complaints. The pizzas started slowly coming out 2 at a time. The quality was inconsistent—some folks had spinach/kale greens, while others had lettuce (???), and some had no vegan cheese (for the best since it resembled Play-Doh). At one point our server came out and said they’d accidentally made an extra cocktail, and did anyone want it? One member of our party said sure, so it would not go to waste. He was subsequently CHARGED FOR IT and informed “we were trying to sell it, not give it away”. Several members of our party didn’t receive their pizzas by the time the rest of us were done with ours. When they asked about them, our server said that another server said they’d already been given their pizzas—essentially accusing us of lying. When it finally came time to leave, our tour guide was confronted by the servers, saying we’d left without paying for a pizza and the hot sauce we’d requested as a condiment. Unreal. I’ve never had such a bad experience.
My say something nice: the espresso...

The only farm-to-table restaurant in Monteverde and indeed a special place to visit!!
Just imagine biting into a thin slice of pizza topped with herbs from their own organic garden made in the wood-fired traditional brick oven while overlooking the peaceful nature reserve. Pure bliss ✨🦋🌳
🥰Recommend it to everyone who appreciates regional food free of pesticides and conservatives as well as those who like to treat themselves to a special meal.
🏡The place is located right next to a nature reserve. It consists of a restaurant, a nature reserve hotel, an organic farm and a butterfly garden. You can easily spend half a day there.
📍It is located in the outskirts of Monte Verde and a 30 min walk from the town center.
🥗I had a wonderful lunch with a vegan pizza - it was so crunchy and tasty (you can even get it gluten-free). You can taste that all fresh ingredients are grown and harvested there.
🌏 Very Big Focus on sustainability with their own organic farm that you can visit.
💁🏻♂️Luis, the manager was always up for a chat.
💵Prices are higher with 8750 for a vegan/veggie pizza and 3800 for the ensalada de la huerta.
⏰Opening Hours are 12 noon - 9 pm daily
🌳Adjacent to the restaurant is the entrance to the nature reserve with many different trails and places to visit. When I visited the restaurant they had a offer to visit the Nature Reserve for Free when you are a guest at the restaurant. I went there the next day and even though the weather was not great, I really enjoyed the...
