Rest. La Soda Coati — Restaurant in Monteverde

I really wanted to support local sodas, but I’ve never witnessed such rude service at Costa Rica. I sat down in the restaurant and began exploring the menu to order lunch. When the server approached me, I asked for the WiFi password while I browsed the menu (so I could tell my friends to join me here, to look up what to order, and to help with translating from Spanish to English). The server aggressively and rudely said “you order then WiFi.” This presumption that I was going to sit down just for WiFi was very offensive. I politely expressed that offense to him and asked for a manager, and he said he was the manager and that if don’t like it then I can leave. As I was leaving, another server asked what happened. I politely explained and she just dismissively waved at me to leave. I left and encouraged my four other tourist peers to go to Orchid Coffee nearby instead. When in Costa Rica eat at Sodas. Small family run place with great service. Slow braised beef stew with rice, beans, salad, root veg stew is very good value at $8. You will be in and out in 30-40mins so not something for a romantic long meal or drawn out dining experience but if you want healthy, hearty, home cooked, fresh food with soup for decent price. Recibimos el peor servicio en nuestras vidas, Primero no aceptan pagos con tarjeta, y la comida es cara, pero cuando lo recibes en mesa se das cuenta que pagó mucho.

Me pedí una hamburguesa de la casa, y la mortadela estaba pasada, luego también había pedido unos espaguetis boloñesa y nos lo sirvieron sin la carne, le echaron salsas de tomate en su lugar, y de vuelto solo nos dieron 600 colones (1$ Aprox).

Como no aceptaban tarjetas, nos confiamos y pagamos al principio por transferencia, intentamos devolver el platillo, pero no hacía nada más que explicar que fue una confusión y por eso al final lo recibimos, pero disconformes, no teníamos opción, ya habíamos pagado y teníamos hambre, teníamos que comer ya.

Tienen que mejorar, tienen bastante buenas experiencias, me hubiera gustado darle las 5 estrellas, pero al día de hoy, tienen cosas por mejorar, y espero que, el propietario si me responde a esta opinión; no haga los misma retórica de otras opiniones no favorables donde le pide que mejor se quede en casa, que es el lugar más barato en Santa Elena, o otras excusas, etc, etc.
