Above 5 Rooftop Restaurant — Restaurant in Dubrovnik

Great service, relaxing atmosphere, 360 degrees views of old town Dubrovnik, comfortable shade and cool fans, delicious food, amazing craft Italian beer.

I cannot help myself but reach for my phone and start leaving a glorious five star review of Above 5 restaurant only after tasting the starter and beer. I will properly update after the main course experience (homemade pasta with lobster and grilled seabass with vegetables).

To start with, we were given a tasty thing made of some kind of very thin crust, delicious creamy mouse and a small piece of tuna. Then butter with herbs and fresh focaccia. I ordered an Italian craft beer (boutique or gourmet, feel free to call it whatever you want) called My Antonia Imperial Pils and oh boy, was that delicious. Fresh fruity flavour, strong alcohol contents 7.5% and lovely champaign shaped bottle. A real work of art.

Starters - chilli prawns. Delicious and not too chilly at all. Lovely taste and cooked to perfection.

Now on to the mains.

Pasta with lobster. Delicious. Pasta was shaped like baby dwarf beans so I had to double check it was actually pasta. Sauce was awesome and lobster cooked to perfection.

Seabass fillet was brilliant and tasty as well.

To finish off this lovely lunch, I ordered coffee and chocolate cake with a single espresso. Hands down, this was the best espresso I’ve had in Dubrovnik so far.

Before desert we were served a scoop of watermelon sorbet “to clear our palate”. What a great idea!!! Tasty and non-loading. Perfect pre-desert treatment.

And the desert was probably the pearl in the crown. What a great dark chocolate and coffee cake, topped with the most delicious coffee ice-cream. Simply amazing!

Would I recommend visiting Above 5 rooftop restaurant in Dubrovnik Old Town? You bet!!!! The best restaurant in Dubrovnik hands down.

I am not sure what the place is like in the evenings but visiting for lunch is awesome and feels private due to less people visiting.

I am not sure what my bill will be, but I couldn’t care less. The dining experience Above 5 provided cannot be easily transferred into monetary terms.

The waiter from Dubrovnik was Exceptional, I would say one of the best waiters that has served us. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We went to Dubrovnik during it's low season, so there were not as many people visiting the iconic city. As such the waiter did not have as many customers to serve so he could give us more of his time. We were lucky that we chose a beautiful sunny day to go to Above 5 Rooftop. The view was absolutely breath taking. But it was a little chilly as we were approaching the evening. We were given some blankets to keep us warm and some homemade bread that was delicious to tie us over until the food we ordered arrived.

My Boyfriend ordered the following: Appetizer: Pidgen Breast Main: Above 5 Burger Desert : Chocolate and coffee My boyfriend absolutely loved their pidgen Breast, the meat was tender and the sauce complimented the meat perfectly. This item was his favorite. The burger was not a highlight for him, it was quite messy and did not meet his expectation in the taste department. The Sweet Potato Chips that were the side to this dish are what saved this meal, both me and my boyfriend gobbled them up. Overall the desert was a nice finish to our meal. If you like coffee then you will really like the taste of this icecream.

I ordered the following: Appetizer: Chili Prawns Main: Beef Tenderloin Desert: Basil Apple My favorite part of the meal was hands down the Basil Apple Icecream. It was devine, I was surprised at how much I liked it. The Beef Tenderloin was very moist and flavourful, my boyfriend stole quite a few pieces from me. The chili Prawns was my least favorite item as I found the feta cheese did not go as well with the prawns as I hoped they would. All in all we enjoyed ourselves at this restaurant the view was breath taking.

This is one of places I've been to in Dubrovnik . I got the rating from Google map and it was 100%true . Location is very close to the entrance . It is in the top floor of the building . I must say that it is 6 floors up but worth every step up to it . Place is small but the view it really nice . Had lunch twice but couldn't have dinner or attend the sunset time there . Menu is preset menu but it is just perfect . I've tried the pigeon breast dish that was unbelievable . Two pieces of Well done pigeon breast on a circle of soya sauce and basil oil . A combination that make you hold your breath . The main dish I tried the stake and the tuna with rosemary Ash ... Both were amazing .

And for the last dish I had both times the apple and basil sorbet and I must say that I miss that taste a lot . Staff : at the ground floor staff are amazing and very friendly and helpful .. all of them .. I had the chance to chat with most of them and they were. Happy in out .. Up at the roof the guy was very gentle and we'll educated and amazingly friendly .

We had that chance to chat when the load gets low at the end of the day .. it sounds like the place goes really busy at night .

You need to make a reservation for the dinner time as it is very busy .

But please don't leave Dubrovnik without having at least one meal in this place .

Price ? Average .. it is about 500ku per person . But you can remove any dish you don't like from the menu .. I guess they calculate the bill per dish .
