Amazing traditional Dubrovnik experience at an affordable price!
We were looking to eat something traditional to try the local cuisine, but without spending a fortune on the old town's restaurants. When we found this restaurant hidden at the end of the street, we were immediately greeted by very friendly staff who explained some of the dishes and how they were traditionally made. We got tempted and decided to sit down, and we got so much more than we were looking for!
The service was amazing: everyone was eager to help and happy to tell us stories about the food and how these Dubrovnik dishes came to life, just what we were looking for! They even got us an appetizer on the house, which was a delicious mix of bean, carrot and tuna spreads with toast.
I decided to get a "Popara" (fish stew with vegetables that local fishermen usually made with smaller fish that were thrown very fresh into the stew) and my wife got a "Sporki Makaruli" (literally Dirty Macaroni, a pasta dish with meat sauce usually made by families for big gatherings). Both dishes were incredibly delicious! The fish stew was soft and tender, and the fish melted in my mouth. We could really tell it was extremely fresh. My wife's dish was also mouthwatering. The fresh pasta went perfectly with the meat sauce and I regret not stealing some more from her plate!
I really recommend this new restaurant. You can feel all the love they pour on the service and the food, and the whole experience was one of the best things of our visit to Dubrovnik. Plus, the prices were very good for a restaurant inside the city walls and, as we say in Chile, the attention was worthy of a white cloth restaurant.

We were in Dubrovnik a couple of weeks ago and were looking for good food to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had time, so we decided to study the menu of every restaurant in Prijeko street and choose after seeing everything. That's how we got to the end of the street, where this incredible restaurant was waiting for us.
We were warmly welcomed and, after listening to the mouth-watering menu, decided to try some local dishes to get a full Croatian experience. Everything was perfect, the owners really love what they do and it shows.
I ordered a Sporki Makaruli (a pasta dish with meat sauce), while my husband got a Popara (a fish stew). Both were delicious, the meat and the fish practically melted in our mouths!
Even though the portions are quite generous and we were practically full, I couldn't help but be temped by the Rozata, a wonderful dessert which has its roots in French cuisine (but with a twist). The food was so good that I was practically dancing in my seat with joy!
If you're in Dubrovnik, I urge you to try out this restaurant. You can tell how much love and thought is put into every dish and every little piece of decoration. The staff are incredibly attentive, they really want to hear your opinion and they light up when you tell them how good the food is. Plus they're really willing to tell you everything you want to know about each dish and try their best to make you feel comfortable.
Thank you to the owners and staff of this restaurant, for making our anniversary dinner an unforgettable experience! (Although they had no idea it was our...
Read moreFood: We ordered the mussels for a starter, and I ordered fish stew, the rest of my family ordered the beef w/ gnocchi, and sea bass. My wife wanted to order leg of lamb, but they were out of this already. Somehow they were even out of iced tea.
Mussels tasted fine, and were not hard or chewy, but they were the size of small wine grapes, despite having full-sized shells 2-3 inches long. This was by far the biggest disappointment as we are in a coastal town and were really looking forward to delicious mussels. In my opinion, if this is the best a restaurant can acquire then they should just take the mussels off the menu.
Sea bass was a full fish with head and bones, but pretty good (I ending up eating this dish as my son ordered it and couldn't deal with the bones - server warned him about this, but my son was stubborn). Fish stew was pretty good too (this was originally my dish). The gnocchi was terrible, the meat was almost like it was from a microwave dinner for kids.
Service: service was great, nothing to complain about here.
Atmosphere: we came here on a stormy day that varied between light rain and pouring rain the entire day. It was pouring rain when we arrived. All the umbrellas covering outdoor tables were taken. They had a few tables in a very small space inside (under a roof, but open to outside) which the server warned us we might not like, but we thought this was fine, and I think I prefer it to sitting under an umbrella with rain all around me.
Overall, for the price I was not...
