I've been in the food service industry for 30 years, so I don't review often. Mama's Pot deserves it! Beautifully located east of the Stradun at Prijeko 26. As I walked by, I was intrigued, and saw some great stuff, but I walked past to look at other menus. Within 50 meters I turned back, and sat down. My gracious servers made me feel comfortable, and I ordered.
Green Tagliatelle with Prawn, shrimp, mussels, squid, and octopus. Paired with a local Malvasija.
Absolutely the best seafood pasta I have ever had! And I've lived in San Francisco, and on Maui. Both the pasta and the seafood were perfectly cooked, and not overcooked. Assertive sauce, so you knew it was there, but not the main flavor. Coating the fish, but not overpowering it, or leaving it lacking. Just the best balance of flavor.
I paired it with a local Malvasija, that was too cold when it came out, but when it warmed up a bit, to maybe 18°C, it started really singing, and danced with the pasta!
Clean ocean salinity, rolling over pebble stones, with subdued apricot, and lemony citrus notes that weren't assertive, but like a flavor you wanted to reach for, on the palate. Amazing pairing with the pasta.
I finished it all off with a little walnut brandy (kind of like Nocino, but not quite), and I was in heaven! I just didn't want it to end.
Go to this place, if that all sounds good to you. Cheers...
Read moreWanted to like this place, but the service was poor and they don't take allergies seriously. Had visited the wine shop next door (same ownership) and thought the restaurant looked good, plus you could order wines from the shop and drink it in the restaurant. However, the experience we had at dinner left a lot to be desired. Issues as follows:
The main one. My wife is highly allergic to garlic. We made the server and kitchen aware, and they still sent out the salad she ordered covered in Caesar dressing (core ingredient: garlic). Had to send it back, no apology given and then waited 25 minutes for it to be remade.
Ordered a drink at the start, never arrived.
Service nowhere to be seen for most of the meal. Never checked if we needed anything during the meal, not proactive at all.
Even at the end of the meal, no acknowledgement of the error or apology. If my wife had consumed the meal as presented she would have been seriously ill for the next 24 hours. Still got charged for the salad.
Could be a great spot, but the management needs to take a serious look at their service standards. Have a real USP with the wine shop next door but this is...

The seafood was simply outstanding. Every dish we tried was fresh, beautifully cooked, and full of flavor. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into their cooking—it feels like a true home-style, heartwarming meal with a refined touch. The portions were generous, and each bite was memorable.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is also worth mentioning—it strikes the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant, with a relaxed vibe that makes you want to stay longer. It’s the kind of place where you can unwind, enjoy great food, and feel at home, whether you're there for a casual lunch or a special dinner.
All in all, Mama’s Pot is a must-visit when in Dubrovnik. The combination of delicious food, top-notch service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it truly special. We’ll definitely be coming back next time we’re...
