Found this when googling cheap food, as by far the meals we ate was quite pricey, didn’t help that they are in the city centre, because we have an elderly companion with us we didn’t want to walk too far. This was only 10 minutes walk from where we were staying and it’s the furthest we’ve traveled for food. The restaurant looked clean and decor excellent, very relaxed atmosphere and the waiter was very nice and welcoming. The food was so good and we even felt like we can actually have dessert because it wasn’t expensive. Me and my sister shared a mussel stew, black risotto (which waiter miss described as monk fish but it was more like cuttlefish due to texture) and a mixed salad. The risotto was excellent and not very salty and the mussels had plenty of flavour and the mixed salad was also tasty. We then shared an Apple pie and ice cream, the Apple pie was soft (unlike the ones back in uk) and so much apple, not even that sweet (unlike uk). So it was perfect and just the right amount for 2 people to share! I would recommend this restaurant if you want good food, decent service and reasonably priced.

Our service staff (the shortest of the 3) was most cheery, attentive n responsive! He offered to help in case we had questions about the menu n food (as we were relating what was on the menu n on the wall) as one walks into the restaurant. He did clarify that the sea bream dish was ‘kormacha’ on the wall. He came to check if everything was good n ok n how the food was! Was delightfully surprised when the hubs gave him a tip n was so loud in his response! Obliged a photo with him n his colleagues. So happy to have their photo taken ! The hubs was a little disappointed tho with his order of fried chicken (as we did not clarify if it was a whole chicken - which I think in our heads we wished for roasted chicken) as it came as a schnitzel chicken! But their wedges was superb! So crisp on the outside n soft on the inside. Wld be great with some greens on the side, to make it a balanced meal. My sea bream /kormacha was delicious with the spinach / blitva (cooked spinach mixed with potatoes n garlic)

We were extremely lucky that the restaurant is located directly near the apartment where we have stayed in Split, so we have accidentally discovered it. It's approximately 10 minutes of walk from the old town, so it's outside of the tourist zone. This is why the prices are much more pleasant and the food is just amazing. During our stay in Split we have eaten there every day (except from Sunday when it's closed). They offer a variety of meals from breakfast to lunch and dinner. We have loved the omelets for breakfast with which we've gotten coffee and juice and we have loved the shrimp risotto for the dinner as well as the civapi and just every dish was super. Also the stuff of the restaurant is friendly and welcoming. We've had a lot of fun to chat with Boris who has always given us perfect recommendations on food and drinks. :)

Shockingly Bad Service – Don’t Believe the Hype

We came here based on all the glowing reviews, but what we experienced was nothing short of a joke.

The food? Mediocre at best. But the real disaster was the service – unprofessional, unfriendly, and downright disrespectful. From the moment we walked in, the staff looked at us like we didn’t belong there. Not a single warm word, just blank stares and passive-aggressive attitudes.

Our food was ready and sat at the counter for 10–15 minutes, completely ignored, while staff wandered around and delivery drivers came and went. No one cared. It finally got brought to us when it was lukewarm – no apology, no explanation.

When it came time to pay, the server dropped the bill on the table without a word, tossed the receipt at us, and walked away like we were an inconvenience. Honestly, the vibe was that everyone working there is miserable – and they make sure the guests feel it too.

It’s honestly baffling how this place has so many good reviews. Maybe we caught them on a bad day – or maybe people have just accepted this kind of behavior. Either way, we won’t be back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you're okay with being treated like a burden.

Entitlement and arrogance have no place in hospitality – especially not from people who clearly shouldn’t be in...
