Alfie T's — Restaurant in Paphos Municipality

The day was plotting a heatwave which, to all accounts and purposes, is a typical day at the Greek End of Cyprus. We were living out a week in Kato Paphos and came across what we warily thought was just another Irish Pub ... Been to a few from Perth to Prague and it's usually all about the Guinness and it's legendary inability to taste as well as it does in Dublin. For us, all we wanted was a seat in the shade, some tea and fizzy water and, not surprisingly, a clean and tidy restaurant to watch the very warm world go by. What we got was pleasantly different: Sam from Perth, Scotland, near our own dear home in Kirriemuir, was quite the most delightful waitress we had yet met in Cyprus. Chatty, polite, highly efficient and cheerful with it, she saw to our every need ... and everyone else's wants along the way. She enhances her place of work. I ordered a prawn cocktail on a plate; she said, "it'll come on the spoons ... " I thought it might come in a tumbler but ... You know these wee porcelain spoons you get in Chinese places for the soup, it came on three of them, wi' a tasty fresh salad on the plate. My wife deigned to have a cheesey toastie and chips. The food was first rate, fresh, beautifully designed platters for ease of dining. The fizz was Perrier in cute wee 20cl bottles and the tea came warm in black-painted cast-iron teapots with them Lotus biscuits everyone likes. It was a treat. Top 'O The Morning to...

My partner and I attended an evening concert at this venue. We diligently ordered drinks, but after the sixth round, we decided to take a short break. At that point, the waiter explicitly told us to leave, stating that if we weren't going to order more, we couldn't stay. It was late, and there were about ten empty tables around us, so we weren't occupying space needed by others. It was just that our last drink went down faster than we anticipated ordering the next. Due to this unjust treatment, I cannot recommend this place. We spent a significant amount of money and tipped during most rounds, yet we were thrown out as if we were criminals. Although we plan to return to Cyprus, we will certainly avoid this...

Absolutely amazing atmosphere!!!! Staff are so accommodating and the regulars are a great laugh not at all funny with me and my partner or standoffish with “outsiders”. We couldn’t get enough and went back most days of our holiday.
