We're definitely coming back for the Eggs Benedict! We visited Bavard Cafe last Sunday at a friend's suggestion – she lives nearby. She'd called a few days before to reserve a table for three at 11 AM, but when we arrived, we were told reservations only start from noon. We were totally confused! Luckily, it was pouring rain, so the cafe wasn't too packed, and we snagged a downstairs table. Not the best spot, but definitely better than standing around.
Food-wise, no complaints at all! Everything came out pretty fast (probably because there were not many guests) and the quality was top-notch. Seriously, this place has the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. I went with avocado, my boyfriend got bacon option, and we both agreed the eggs were perfect. Drinks were nothing special, but not bad either. A minor plus: the restrooms were really clean. Paying with cash was a bit inconvenient, but we knew beforehand, so we were prepared. Hopefully, they'll add card payments in the future! Overall, we had a good experience and will be back to check out their outdoor...
Read moreThe food itself was okay, did not enjoy it too much but maybe that's just not my cup of tea. What bothered me was the salmon that was slightly cooked on the outside but fully raw and freezing cold and wet on the inside. That was honestly disgusting.
Another problem i had was the extremely strong smell of gas through the whole visit, we were seated close to the kitchen which explains it but doesn't excuse it, the strong odour was just making us uncomfortable and definitely killed our appetite.
The last straw was the server that we were paying to. We asked to pay with card and he rudely said that's not possible (there was no info about the inability to pay with card prior to this point) and honestly, a place where the breakfast costs 700 czk for two should definitely have the option to pay with card. They definitely make enough money to pay a 1 percent fee to the bank for providing the terminal.
Overall, 2 stars are appropriate, the server that took our orders was very nice and the home-made lemonade was definitely a highlight. We are definitely not...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant for breakfast and had an extremely disappointing experience. I ordered pancakes, expecting something delicious, but what I received was more like bread drenched in an overwhelming amount of cream and chocolate. It completely missed the mark. The juice was equally terrible—tasting more like sugar water than anything fresh.
Beyond the poor food quality, the service was even worse. The cashier was incredibly rude. They only accepted cash, which was inconvenient, and refused to provide separate bills even though we were a group of 11. This led to each of us having to go up individually to settle our portions, which made the cashier visibly upset. At one point, he started pacing behind the counter and muttering curses, just because one person in our group made a mistake with their order.
Overall, I was extremely dissatisfied with both the food and the service. I wouldn’t recommend this...
