We came twice on our family vacation, aka, where I drag my parents across Europe while scouting locations for tours and my writing group (Europe's largest).
The first day, everything was great. Food was good, service was good, we loved it. I made a note that with the books, and the size, and the service, this would be a great stop on our next retreat.
The second day, as we were sitting down, a long haired blonde server saw us sit down. My dad is a large man. She made a disgusted face and rolled her eyes. This is when we locked eyes and I let her know I saw her. She gave us our menus, looked him up and down and grimaced. She then didn't return to our table to take our orders for 20 minutes. At this point, I was a bit shocked (even though after living in Europe for 7 years specifically Germany, I'm used to people's views on obese Americans, I'm just not used to seeing it done to their face). When she did return and asked if we were ready, I responded a bit harsh and said, "After 20 minutes, I'd sure hope so."
Truthfully, we were about to leave. We went ahead and ordered. She brought our drinks out after another ten minutes. Didn't speak to us. Brought the food out, didn't speak to us at all when setting it down. Her attitude was unreal. Never came back to talk to us, just went other tables.
The lady who had waited on us the day before (brown hair, shorter) then came to check on us and took over our table. She was amazing on day one and definitely changed our experience on day 2. We tipped her well, thanked her for her service, but I definitely took this café off my list.
People come in all shapes and sizes. My dad has a traumatic brain injury that has damaged his short term memory. He has gained a lot of weight because he can't remember if he's ate, he has early onset dementia, and his medicine also has some side effects that make him bloat, swell, etc.
Hate fate people (she wasn't skinny herself), but if they're at your cafe, don't scowl at them and roll your eyes to their face. We don't expect US level service while abroad, I actually like European non-nonsense service. But treat humans as humans. You never know what they're going through or what has impacted their physical form. My dad is an extremely sweet, caring human and our first server missed out on a €10 tip because she felt she was better than an...
Read moreI'm sorry to give a negative feedback, but the waiters have to be a bit polite und to learn to apologise. First of all I got the dirty cup for tea, ok, can happen, I told this our waiter and she didn't like it, so didn't apologise for it, but brought me another one. The next thing happend was that when I poured the tea in my cup there was a bug (or beetle), you can imagine the reaction, but I stayed calm and just said the waiter that I'm not gonna drink this tea, you think she apologised? No! She just said oh, that's all and I understand things can happen, but just to say, I'm sorry, would be more than enough. The service in this cafe is bad, I this is no go for me if the stuff can't apologise for dirty dishes or bug in the tea, sorry, even if the meal was tasty. I also have a...
Read moreI had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Le Frenchie today with a friend, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal.
I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly poached eggs, a velvety hollandaise sauce, and the flavors were beautifully balanced. My friend was equally impressed with their dish.
To top it off, we were surprised with complimentary sweets, which was such a thoughtful touch and truly made our visit feel special. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall charm of the place.
Highly recommend Le Frenchie for a delightful...
