Parkan — Restaurant in okres Plzeň-město

I thought that we were pretty clear on the 1st of January when we visited your restaurant, but if you prefer our mentioning the reasons of our disappointment in public, we can... We reached at your restaurant at 17.50 and we asked at the bar if there are free tables and when the restaurant closes. We were told that you are open by 23.00 and that there is enough room. Only two or three tables were used at that time. The waitress drove us to a table but after a while she left us a piece of paper writing 19.00, which meant that we should leave by that time. We ordered food which was poorly cooked because the potato doublings were reheated and they had a chewing taste. Unfortunately we didn't eat. As if this was not enough every now and again our stay was interrupted by the a waitress who was collecting our glasses (half full) so as to make us go. While the beer and food were fantastic, unfortunately couldn't say the same about the staff. The staff in Parkan aren't the friendliest in Plzen, they always seem uninterested and reserved. I went there many times with different groups and obviously they treat you completely differently if you are there with Czech or non-Czech people. It's a shame because the potential for an enjoyable dining experience is there, but the lack of good service really took away from the overall experience. Amazing place, a must try in my opinion. It's in between a pub and bistro, leaning towards the pub atmosphere, but still offering great quality hearty dishes. Beer is great, one of the few places in the world where unpasteurized and unfiltered draft Pilsner is offered. Food was also well prepared, the appetizers were delicious and so were the main courses as well. Service was excellent, everything went well. Prices are absolutely okay.
