Today, me and my girlfriend went to have a drink in this establishment. While we were about to sit by an empty table at the outdoor seating, a waitress approached my girlfriend, who is Mexican-American and told her that the terrace is closed. We found that quite odd as it was 4pm and many people were still out drinking, but still, we decided to have a beer inside. After a while, I noticed they were still serving beer to people at the outdoor seating and that no one asked them to leave the terrasse. I pointed this out to the very same waitress who sent us inside. Her answer was very vague and not convincing at all: "What can we do? People will still sit there even in the cold" The only reason we were sent inside is because my girlfriend is of brown skin tone. Which is extremly outrages! It is even more outrages, because my girlfriend is a military veteran and today is a Victory day in Europe during which American troops liberated the city of Plzen. Being a Czech white man it made me really angry to see her treated this way. After seeing her crying I knew this experience really ruined our whole trip to Plzen....
Read moreHave been there the second time. First time (about a year ago), the food (duck with dumplings) was excellent. My other half had some steak and I remember she loved it and wanted to come back again, so we did. The staff (a casually dressed man) took us to a back side, behind closed door in a conveniently air-conditioned room/lounge.
This time, I was not feeling well (bad stomach) hence I ordered a salad with fresh baguette and my girlfriend got some steak with awesome sauce. I must say that the salad was fresh and very good. Finally, it fixed up my stomach, so it had to be good. The other meal was also great (I also tasted a bit).
The service (staff) is generally friendly and helpful but this time, they were outstanding and very helpful. I can only say, that we will keep coming back.
Note: It is not the cheapest pub/restaurant around but this one excels in professional service, food quality and good beer.

Read moreThe prices and portions correspond to the touristy spot. Pecena kachna 1/4 - well prepared tiny piece with an average price at Kc245 but for the WING part of the bird, not the LEG. Also, bread needs to be bought separately. If you must try the duck, I recommend buying 1/2 duck for Kc50 more. Kulajda - interesting twist and priced a little bit higher than average at Kc89. Jablkovy zavin - looks great on the plate, but it is bland, counting on the syrup and whipped cream to add flavor. My piece was missing the ice cream. I won't recommend it at Kc115. Double espresso is a regular espresso times 2 at Kc118, where the average is around Kc80 all over the Czech Republic. However, the coffee is good. Also, I took one star from them because of the upsell and pressure to leave a tip....
