The new menu by the new chef is a bit underwhelming, especially when compared to other fine dining places in Prague using local ingredients such as Field. The menu is rather limited with little variety in options. The salmon trout tartar starter was a mix of flavours that we did not feel went very well together. This thread continues throughout the experience at Alcron. The menu often feels like a mix of very nice ingredients that taste good on their own but do not particularly play well together or fit. The sweet potatoes were well made but were rather simple with nothing very special about them. The buttermilk sauce - albeit nice - was underwhelming and the over-use of micro-greens throughout the dish added an overbearing bitterness. The quail eggs & potatoes had a great sauce, the eggs were very well cooked but on the other hand, the potatoes were just plain baked potatoes that left a lot to be desired. Though the dish is supposed to come together with the sauce, it was too dependent on the flavour added by it and did not quite hold up its own. Their bread & butter for amuse buche is a nice choice and quite nice of them not to charge for bread even though we re-ordered quite a few times. On the other hand, charging for filtered water did not quite fit for the class of restaurant they are seemingly trying to compete in. The prices are quite reasonable, especially for the quality of ingredients, but I think some more work on the new menu to set them apart and really have a 'plant-forward' menu with truly unique takes on ingredients is needed.

We had the pleasure of experiencing an exquisite dinner at Alcron, the menu is defined as “plant forward,” with a focus on creating unique and innovative dishes that celebrate the beauty of vegetarian and vegan cuisine. Each dish was meticulously plated, showcasing the chef’s dedication to culinary artistry. We started with the “Bryndza” parfait, a delightful blend of white chocolate and hazelnuts, accompanied by red onion, apricot purée, and brioche. A pleasure to see and to eat. Next up was the salmon trout tartare, served with apple, pickled cucumber, and lemon confit. For the main course, we indulged in the sweet potato gratin, featuring pumpkin seeds & jalapeños remoulade, wild broccoli, and a luscious butter milk sauce. Another standout dish was the dill sauce with quail egg, confit potatoes, oyster mushroom, kohlrabi, and baked potato crumble. Once again, our eyes were eating before our mouths. As we are also meat lovers, we went for the rib eye steak with demi-glace. And let’s not forget about dessert – the “Kremrole” with white chocolate filling, black currant sorbet, and toasted almonds was a delightful end to the meal. Followed by the chocolate tart with salted caramel & tonka bean, it was a bit of heaven for a conclusion to an unforgettable dining experience. Throughout the meal, we had the pleasure of sampling local wines and spirits, perfectly paired with each course to enhance the flavors.

I cannot fault the attentiveness of the waiters and waitress. But this is not enough to save this restaurant from what is an overall disappointing experience. The restaurant itself was fine even though it was mostly deserted and overall not a very pleasant environment say for the lighting. Firstly, the bread was soggy, damp even, clearly due to being rehydrated a long time after being baked. Further, I chose the barley and radish “shallot” risotto. On the menu itself the fact that my order was a risotto was not clearly stated, as I had no intention of ordering risotto. My partner and I were under the impression I had not ordered the risotto as she too had read the menu and did not notice that it was in fact a risotto, neither of us did until it arrived. Willing to give it a try I soon discovered that it was lukewarm and lacked any flavour other than the occasional cranberry and radish. Presentation was satisfactory but over all a let down given it was a surprise to me in the first place. The complementary sparkling wine and birthday dessert was nice of the restaurant but even then the dessert was over all lack lustre. If you’re thinking about this place, I would say that this is a waste of money. Wholly recommend any other resteraunt in Prague. A major disappointment for what was meant to be a pleasant birthday meal.

I recently had a disappointing experience at Alcron Restaurant in Prague. Being a Michelin-starred establishment, I was excited to visit and enjoy a memorable dining experience. Unfortunately, my visit turned out to be quite frustrating and inconvenient.

Based on the information provided by Google Maps, I confirmed that Alcron Restaurant was open. Trusting this information, I took a cab and traveled for around 30 minutes to reach the restaurant, only to discover upon arrival that it was closed due to an evening event (despite it being noon at the time). This unexpected closure left me feeling disheartened and inconvenienced.

While the staff at Alcron Restaurant were extremely nice and offered me the option to wait at the bar for my cab, it was disheartening to realize that the restaurant did not respect its advertised opening hours. As a customer, I believe that opening hours are an essential aspect of any establishment, and they should be adhered to in order to avoid disappointing visitors.

Furthermore, it would have been helpful if the restaurant had provided information about the event and its impact on the regular dining hours on their website or social media platforms. This way, potential customers could have been informed in advance and made alternative arrangements. Communication regarding changes in opening hours or events is crucial for maintaining transparency and ensuring a positive customer experience.

In addition to the unexpected closure, I experienced further inconvenience by having to wait in the rain for 15 minutes for a new cab to return to my hotel. This unfortunate series of events left me with a sense of frustration and disappointment.

While I appreciate the polite and accommodating attitude of the staff, I believe that Alcron Restaurant should prioritize maintaining accurate opening hours and proactively communicate any changes or events to their customers. This way, visitors can make informed decisions and avoid unnecessary inconvenience.

I sincerely hope that the restaurant takes this feedback into consideration and makes improvements to ensure a smoother and more transparent experience for future customers.

Please note that my experience may not be representative of Alcron Restaurant as a whole, and individual...

I was looking forward to having dinner with my wife at a new restaurant that had just opened up in the city. It had received glowing reviews and we were excited to try out their menu.

However, from the moment we arrived, things started to go downhill. The hostess was rude and dismissive, barely acknowledging our presence before pointing to our table. When we were seated, we quickly realized that the table was wobbly and unstable. Despite our best efforts to fix it, it continued to rock back and forth, making it difficult to eat.

The waiter came over to take our order and seemed impatient as we asked questions about the menu. We placed our order and waited for our food. When it finally arrived, I was disappointed to see that my meal was undercooked and my wife's dish was overcooked and dry.

We tried to eat as much as we could, but the food was simply unappetizing. Our drinks were frequently empty, and it was difficult to flag down our waiter for refills.

To make matters worse, the restaurant was very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation without shouting. The overall atmosphere was unpleasant and the lighting was harsh, creating a feeling of discomfort and unease.

After an uncomfortable and unpleasant meal, we decided to leave early. We were disappointed with the food and the service, and felt that the experience had been a waste of our time and money. It was a bad experience, but we knew that we would have better luck at a different...
