Recently, I visited this restaurant with my family for dinner. Here’s a detailed account of our experience:
Starters:
Kulajda Soup: The soup was decent but not particularly impressive. I have had much better Kulajda soups in Prague. There was a noticeable lack of mushrooms, and the egg was hard-boiled rather than poached, which was a bit disappointing.
Main Courses:
Steak Tartare: While not terrible, it wasn’t the best steak tartare I’ve had. Additionally, the menu specified a portion size of 150 grams, but the serving seemed smaller than that. The tartare was served directly spread on the bread, which was an unusual presentation for me. Moreover, the bread was not toasted enough and wasn’t warm. Confit Duck Leg: This dish was generally tasty, with a particularly excellent sauce. However, according to our taste, it was overcooked, leaving the inside of the duck quite dry.
Atmosphere and Service:
The atmosphere of the restaurant was generally good but it was somewhat noisy, which detracted from the overall experience. The service was generally prompt; however, there were a few notable issues. Some of the staff were very polite and attentive, while others were noticeably inattentive and lacked the professionalism expected in such an establishment. This inconsistency in service significantly impacted our overall dining experience. When dining out, especially in a place where we pay for a good time with family or friends, encountering unfriendly or inattentive staff can be quite off-putting. Despite having a reservation, there was no record of it in their system, and we had to wait for a while. Eventually, we were seated, but I couldn’t help but feel that if there hadn’t been an available table, we might have been turned away despite our reservation. The hostess who greeted us was very unwelcoming, with a constant frown and a rushed demeanor, making us feel quite uncomfortable from the start.
Conclusion: While the food was mostly acceptable, the issues with service and reservation handling left us with an overall negative impression. This restaurant needs to improve its management and service standards to provide a consistently pleasant dining experience.
Considering these experiences, I hope that other guests do not encounter the same issues and that the restaurant takes steps to address...
Read moreWe chose to visit this restaurant based on a recommendation from our tour guide—what a mistake that turned out to be. From the moment we arrived, the experience was appalling. We were led to a table that still had dirty, used utensils on it—with actual food remnants stuck to the knives from the previous guest. Absolutely disgusting.
We informed the staff, expecting at the very least a sincere apology. Instead, they brushed it off as if it were a joke, making no effort to correct the situation before taking our order. Completely unprofessional and rude even for Czech standards, which we were warned about from the tour guide.
Then came another unpleasant surprise: we ordered two housemade lemonades and were asked if we wanted water. Assuming this was a goodwill gesture to make up for the earlier disgrace, I accepted. Only later did I realize it was a charged item. When I politely asked for it to be taken away, the staff complied—but with such obvious annoyance and zero hospitality, it was honestly insulting.
As for the food—what a letdown. The duck leg was cold, too small, hard and bland. The sauce that went with it tasted cheap and store-bought. The only decent part of the meal were the dumplings, which also weren’t freshly made for dinner but were standing in the cold for a while and then reheated. At least they seemed to be handmade.
Btw, the review was not written by an American or British Karen-like tourist with unrealistic standards and questionable tastebuds. Just someone who expected basic cleanliness, respect, and edible food—and...
Read moreI have been to Parlament many times, and every time I am relatively satisfied. Last night, we went for a special occasion with a group of 7 in the family. First we were sat upstairs at a table near the toilets. It was very loud, but bearable...the issue we had was there was a vent right beside the table that was blowing out the smell of the kitchen in the restaurant next door - Bruxx. It is not the atmosphere you want at your table - the smell of seafood "exhaust" blowing into your face while you try to enjoy your food (no seafood on the menu). I have no idea why they would have the exhaust pipe from a different restaurant blowing out directly onto one of their tables???? Manager said "some people complain about it, but some don't" ...huh? We asked to be moved. To their credit, they moved us quickly, but unfortunately that night it seemed to be no better than a beer hall (I have gone to Parlament in the past bringing business partners and the atmosphere has been pleasant every time). There were large tables of screaming people and we could not hear the person next to us. I am not sure if this is the intention of Parlament to become a beerhall. But I thought it served well in the past as a quality Czech traditional restaurant. Worst experience I have had in a while, considering my past...
