China Palace — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

Terrible service, food was not bad. We didn’t manage to receive all our food however, which was unfortunate and stressful. 40 minutes after receiving a few starters , we were told that it would take at least another 15/20 minutes to get the mains , to which we didn’t respond well and we were in time crunch and had to be somewhere else in about half hour so we asked to cancel the main. The waitress was rude and didn’t communicate with us at all. Instead 5 minutes later the main courses started arriving one by one accompanied by the woman’s terrible attitude. We ate in less than 10 minutes, paid and left. The duck however never arrived since “It takes a long time for it to be finished” , which they had , hence the 40+ minutes since our starters , but we just wanted to get out. The restaurant wasn’t even half full , there were maybe 5 or 6 other tables and all of them had received their food before us , including the ones that arrived after us. We were a table of 7 but never fussed over anything while ordering , and 3 of the main course were the same , rice with chicken. I don’t understand why any of this happened but with a better communication and attitude we would’ve left somewhat satisfied.

On a Short city break occasion, my family and I had visited Copenhagen, and had dinner at China Place, probably one of the best restaurants for Sichuan cuisine in Copenhagen. We were so impressed with the food that we ended up dining there twice during our stay.

On our first visit, we ordered beef noodles, beef in chilli sauce, Each dish was bursting with authentic Sichuan flavours, and the balance of spices was perfect.

The next night, we couldn’t resist returning to China Place. This time, we enjoyed beef with green peppers, Yangzhou fried rice and once again had the beef in chilli sauce. The consistency in the quality and flavour of the food was remarkable, and we were delighted with our meals.

Both times, the service was prompt and courteous, adding to our overall satisfaction. The flavorful dishes and excellent service made China Place a highlight of our trip.

We (3 adults and 1 kid) went to the place just before 9 pm Friday evening. The place was not crowded but several tables had people waiting for their orders to come. We waited for more than 30 minutes to get all our orders ready. The kid was really hungry but fortunately we ordered hot and sour soup with some rice, which came earlier. The food was well prepared (meaning they carefully chopped the vegetables, etc and cooked well), but little bit towards salty side. Would recommend to give it a try - but when you are starving please order some quick dishes like small egg rolls - these are great by the way - so that you get something the fill empty stomach before...
