The planetarium starts well with videos of big bang and supernova plus some interactive exhibition. But it goes down hill from there. Small exhibits and artistic still display of Saturn and it's ring is not exactly creating much interests.

The drawing activity which is special during autumn vacation is in the café, small and filled with people waiting for their IMAX movie to start. Another holiday special: the rocket show, is not open until a fixed time. Maybe they need time to setup after each demonstration but that means we have nowhere to go and nothing much to see.

My two kids at 4 & 7 couldn't wait another 2 hours for our IMAX movie. We left after 40 minutes in the planetarium, including the first 5 minutes waiting in queue to buy entrance ticket (the same area where one can also get popcorn and snack for movie, and coffee for the cafe, so understaffed during holiday season).

My son loves planets and space; and we're hoping to boost his interests with a visit to planetarium but ended up with disappointment. 560kr for a 40 minutes visit. This is our most expensive museum visit to date, per minute. You're better off going to the Experimentarium where one can truly spend a day exploring different things with children. And we're better off watching documentary at home, much...

The exhibit is very interesting. I recommend visiting especially if you have passion for sience ans astrophysics. But some description texts were a little exaggerating (to be interesting for non-scientific audience). Like "did you know all the Oxygen in your body comes from the stars" (to explain how Oxygen was created during fusions in the stars), but then what is photosynthesis!? But it has very intetrsting interactive devices to enjoy! The show: The introduction video to the show is very beautiful and you feel yourself floating in the sky, because of that round room and effect of animations. However, the show itself is not specially designed for the room, that's why it is just like seeing a documentary movie. Interesting, if the movie is interesting. The show we saw was interesting, however, some parts I felt exaggerating too. The sound of the given device for English translation is too low compared to the Danish sound and one gets distracted for understanding. I recommend taking a good quality noise cancelling wired headphone (with a normal jack) to connect to the device instead of their headphone. Very kind staff. Also you'll see a stone from the moon there ^^ Good thing is opening hours! You wonder were to go to an indoor place in a cold rainy...

I visited this place in August when I was on vacation in Copenhagen. You can visit the Planetarium for free if you have the Copenhagen pass and you also get one free movie included with it. The exhibition that deals with the universe is very nice, interesting to read and has Danish texts as well as English one's. For the whole exhibit it will take you roughly 30-45 minutes, if you read everything carefully. If you plan to watch a movie there (highly recommend) then you should take a look at the schedule beforehand and plan your visit as they sometimes only show the movies in Danish language. There is also a smaller temporary exhibition, that is, however, only available in Danish.

After going there with my Copenhagen Pass and watching a movie there I bought a ticket for a second movie as the IMAX cinema is really just phenomenal. The movies themselves are fantastic and highly interesting but the cinema itself is simply top notch as well.

A must-see...

Another attraction that's included in the CPH Discover Card. Here it's all about the Big Bang, Existence, Galaxies. It's just 1 level of showcase, with some visitor engagement activity around the perimeter such as drawing your own impression of Mars or playing at the sand box to create your own outer space terrain. The highlight is apparently in the Dome where they play movies. The Dome reminded me of the one at Griffith Observatory, but I didn't last through this one as it was in Danish. Spent just under an hour here. I think this place is only interesting for people with a deep interest in the beginnings and future of the universe. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for entry.
