We thoroughly recommend the Halifax as a place for anyone who likes burgers!
On the menu, you choose your style of burger, then whether you want a brioche bun, a soft dark bun or a lettuce wrap, and then you pick your patty. On our visit, I had a 'Kreta' burger, with an extra patty, some goats' cheese and a brioche bun, and my partner had a 'Biarritz' chicken burger in a lettuce wrap. I got some classic fries and a mayo dip too. The meat was really nicely cooked, the cheeses and lettuce accompanied the meat well, and the bun was the right amount of softness, although there was no way I could get my mouth around this colossal burger. It took some eating!
The waitress was very friendly, served with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. The decor inside was trendy, clean and comfortable, with different shades of blues on the wall and well-padded booths with a low-hanging light which shone on your food but not in your eyes.
We both left extremely full and really happy, and it had only cost us 380KR.
We had searched for an ideal burger restaurant whilst in Copenhagen, and we're glad we picked the Halifax. I'd love to take it...
Read moreIt's one of the best burger chains in Denmark if not the best, and its standards are reliable and consistent at each location. Personally I tend to prefer their Østerbro location at Trianglen, it has a nicer ambience and it feels more elegant, but the food is pretty much the same. My favorite burger is the Biarritz with goat cheese and chili mushrooms, but they have a great selection of burgers and sides and appetizers which are all delicious. Great also for vegetarians and vegans. The service is fine on average. What I didn't like at this particular location is the accessibility: it's not wheelchair accessible due to the stairs at the entrance and the space at the tables is not the widest, so if you have accessibility issues I'd choose another...

They used to be the best burger in town! Especially their "Zurich" if you'd like to add the taste of a crunchy Rösti.
Recently, they changed their menu; for example, by adding goat cheese to Zurich, they ruined the taste completely! Also, they used to have crazy delicious special fries, and God knows why someone decided to remove it from their menu! If I were the owner, I would have fired the person who had decided to apply these changes. What a shame.
I used to visit this restaurant at least once a month with friends and tell everyone to have a burger there, but nowadays none of us go there due to these...
