Has become a tourist trap.
I just had dinner at Saxogade and Iâm quite disappointed. My two guests and I had the menu and wine pairings for 995dkk, but the food was very mediocre to say the least, and the wine pairings were pretty bland except for the nice dessert wine. It was very hot inside and we were all sweating. It was a pretty bad experience and I just want you to know that Iâm very disappointed. Your restaurant appears to have become a tourist trap, it at least has the feel of one. You donât seem to deserve your reviews and I understand why you hide your menu, as it was clearly very cheap. The main course was particularly disappointing, but the rest was quite bad too â poorly balanced, overly acidic and prepared and garnished like you had hired a random person from the street to cook it from a Jamie Oliver cookbook. The acoustics were terrible and the waiter introduced a wine by saying he didn't like it and started talking about a wine he liked more....
Given the quality of the food, I wouldnât expect to have paid more than 300dkk for the food and...
Read moreWent here with family living in Copenhagen. I am from New York and have an Italian heritage. Found the food overall to be so-so and overpriced. The night we went the second course was seafood and three of us do not eat seafood. So, the waitress offered a replacement of pasta which we accepted. Came out lukewarm and hard â tried to tell us that this hard pasta is a specialty of Sicily and that it how it is to be served. Really!?!?! But we did not make any further comment and went on eating, with several of those that had received the replacement pasta not finishing it. The wait staff was the only good thing about the restaurant, and the waitress tried to make up for our disappointment in the pasta. I was not planning on writing a review about our experience until I heard from someone in our party that the female chef made a comment upon our leaving as to how rude we were. She would know what rude really is if I had heard her comment directly and before we left the...
Read moreThe foccacia bread was bland and boring. Føtex bake-off does it much better. The starters were decent. The risotto was good, the best dish we had which sadly is not a very high bar. The meat, all four or five thin slices, lacked taste. The meat was seared well, but unfortunately that was the only real taste the meat had. The meat itself was tasteless. We finished it off with a decent tiramisu, but wasn't quite sure they had used any lady fingers or similar.
We had some excellent wines with the food. The waiters were very professional and helpful. Good service.
The room is crowded and there's not much room. They have put in noise reduction plates in the ceiling, which i would guess helps quite a bit with the acoustics.
I would not recommend the place, it's too expensive for...
