I am tired of these "Korean" restaurants in Copenhagen that scam its diners into paying an absurd amount of money for what they think is a "modern take" on Korean cuisine.
Juju is frankly just extremely mediocre (and dare I say, bad) Korean food hidden behind the facade of "modern dining" - nothing about the food or experience you get here is authentic by any means.
We were dining as a group of 4, but my partner had already eaten a bit beforehand, so he just wanted to order a kimchi stew for himself (rather than going all-in on the menu with the rest of us).
When it came time to order, we told our server that we would like 2 orders of the kimchi stew -- 1 to share among the 3 of us, and 1 for my partner to eat by himself. Our server then tells us that he would ask the kitchen to make a "slightly larger" portion of the stew with 6 dumplings instead of the usual 3. I said no, we would like 2 stews, both normal-sized, and both with 3 dumplings.
He then proceeds to seemingly guilt/shame us for ordering "such a large stew" for 1 person, and insists that it's "much too large" for a person to eat on their own. I said that we would still like to order 2.
When the stew finally came, I wasn't at all surprised to see that the portion-size was exactly that of what you could order for 1 person at a typical Korean restaurant. Not "oversized" at all.
We ordered the bulgogi as well (ungodly overpriced), which was embarrasingly small and consisted of a higher ratio of onions and carrots than actual beef.
The kimchi and spicy cucumber were also tasteless and watered down.
We ordered some other things as well, but clearly none of them were particularly memorable. Everything was just very small, very overpriced, and very bland. Perhaps the only decent thing on the menu were their chicken skewers (still, 175dkk for 2 tiny skewers...?)
The service itself was very strange and not exactly "friendly", with servers accidentally bringing us the wrong food, taking away our plates very quickly, constantly being waited on by different servers, etc. It all seemed very confusing and unprofessional.
Overall, I'd say that this experience was extremely disappointing. I had really been looking forward to trying Juju, as I am always excited to see new Korean restaurants pop up in Copenhagen, and Juju had been praised so highly on social media. But all this place left me was a bad taste in my mouth, and a greater incentive to just keep making Korean...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Here’s a few pointers.
Food - this is not authentic Korean (I’m Korean by the way). This is not even “fusion.” It tasted like someone was experimenting in the kitchen. First we ordered the “Duk Bok Ki” which is a traditional Korean street/comfort food should be simple and delicious. This place had the rice cakes (5 pieces) in a type of spicy soup broth with mussels. The taste was watery and absolutely no sustenance. It was 90% broth and very little content.
The pork belly Sam was served in a soy sauce base and a small serving of kimchee. The meat was overcooked and the sauce was overbearing and basically melted the pork in the sauce. We literally had to peel the pork from each other to eat it.
Value (lack thereof) - as you can see in the photo, we paid over 450 kr (almost $65) for 2 dishes and water (50kr). Overpriced for mediocre food.
Service - the wait staff looked untrained, confused and disheveled. We were attended to only a few times and had to ask to order, for water, about our food and to pay. (See other reviews with similar experience)
We waited nearly 25 minutes between our first dish and our next. No mentions of it being on the way and when asked the waiter replied “this stuff takes time.”
Conclusion - save your money and go somewhere else if you want Korean food. This place should not be stating they serve Korean food. As a Korean, it was a little shameful that people who are not familiar with Korean food would eat at a place like this and think that’s what hundreds of years of traditional boiled down to what they were serve at Juju.
Apparently the owner is Korean, or so we were told. He was there entertaining his own guests. Would have been a wise move to check on the paying guests to see how they’re doing. We will not be going back, needless to say. We ended up going to another restaurant nearby after and paying half what we paid and enjoyed the food and was...

The sandwich remains the same; however they explained: “It’s made from a high-quality bun from Juno the Bakery - an intentional choice to prioritise premium ingredients” This explanation is fair enough - the bun really was delicious. They have offered me a Wolt voucher covering the full cost of the meal + delivery, which I appreciate. I thank good customer service & a quick resolution of my issues. I’ll say once more in closing - food was really delicious, absolutely no issues there! Thanks Team Juju
I’ll start with the good. Food was really tasty; lovely bun, juicy well coated chicken, good condiments. Crispy, well seasoned fries. But! I was absolutely floored at the portion sizes. A 100kr burger literally half the size of a normal burger. 50kr for 29 fries (yes I counted), but they did actually fill the tiny box they came in. 15kr for two squirts of mayonnaise that didn’t fill its container. Basically a child’s portion. For 165kr. Go if you are not hungry & happy to spend that kind of money. A real shame because the flavours were all there. I did DM the restaurant before posting...
