If I was to rate it against what would have been an ok experience in Japan then it would be a 2 star rating. But for what I would accept in Denmark it is ok, but nothing special. I sat myself up at the counter with view of the dishes being made, a part of your normal Japanese small ramen shop experience. I had orderd the Tonkutso ramen, a normal heavy dish. The look was fine, the chatsu pork was thinly sliced, to have it heat up by the broth. But often this also takes away the flowers of the slices and only give a little texture more than giving a lush piece where the flowers would sing through. The broth was fine, not deep layered but had a fine base taste to it, not as thick as I would have liked it, seemed a little bit underdeveloped for a Tonkutso broth. Getting down to the noodles, it was a mixed pleasure, a couple of bites I got the spaghetti taste and feel, unfortunately. But then other times it was ok, but should never think spaghetti when eating ramen. The amount however was fine, nice amount to the broth, and they even have the kaedama option if you finish off with more broth to go and want a little extra noodles. The egg was the highlight, perfect.
So yes the experience was ok, the price still a bit high, but not that I wouldn't say stay away if you...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews on Google, this restaurant appeared to be an affordable restaurant with great portion sizes and great food. Although the reviews were not completely wrong, they did unfortunately raise my expectations a little high.
The portions might've been a little larger than what I have been used to in Europe, they unfortunately were not as large as I had hoped. I ordered the "tonkotsu chorizo", which I liked. I had not had ramen for a few months before this, and this was a great place to satiate my craving for it. It was very flavorful, and everything in the bowl combined very well. Although it was labeled as moderately spicy, it was not. I'd probably categorize it as barely spicy, as it was insufficient to give me any spice symptoms. However, for the person who doesn't eat a lot of spicy food, it will be enough to maybe make your nose run a little. But overall, it was pretty nice. However, the service was a little sad, but that does have an excuse. My waitress had to run the entire restaurant by herself, so she had to balance cooking my meal and pickup orders, serving, and cleaning. So, I'm not very bothered by that.
All in all, great place to get some ramen if you're...
Read moreVery good broth 😋 Rich and full of flavors yet balanced. Most authentic-feel from a ramen broth I've tasted in Denmark (even if it's still very much adapted to local taste), and the noodles are perfect. Service was courteous and much faster than I expected. I love that they had single bar sitting which is essential for me in a ramen place, and they let you eat your ramen in peace. I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because even if the rest was great, the pork topping felt a bit off. There was a weird smell when I came in, as if the kitchen was a bit dirty. I'm really not prissy about that sort if things and I'll eat in the dirtiest joints if the food is good, but that specific smell has no place in a restaurant. And I got that smell again in the pork topping, as if it had been poorly defrosted or not so fresh. That being said, I heard 2 separate customers come in a say "wow it smells great" so maybe it...
