Looks great from outside and once you get in it feels like a saloon in a western! The place was completely booked but since it was just me, they told me I could wait at the bar - which I did. I took the time to read other reviews and have a look at the menu. Noticed a lot of people complaining about the service and the staff's attitude. Sadly it is true. I was sent to the basement of the restaurant where there's absolutely no vibe to it. Having a meal next to the vacuum cleaner was something that I'll cherish for the rest of my life. The lady that took my order had no smile whatsoever and felt like she was doing me a favour. The meal was ok - I guess Danish cuisine isn't for me. Time to pay: what an adventure. Nobody around to get the payment. Went back upstairs and there as all sort of confusion. Went back to the basement and she was there suddenly waiting and the other fella looking at me like "I thought you dined and dashed.". Overall 3 stars. The food was ok. The service made me feel like 2nd...
Read moreRio Bravo has kind of a western theme meets Danish cuisine vibe going on. The staff are very friendly and were attentive during our visit. My rating is an average from a 5-star service and 3-star food experience. I came to Rio Bravo with my husband and two friends and this was our first time visiting Copenhagen. We decided to try the Denmark National dish (fried pork and potatoes), the Rio Bravo Gryde (stew of sorts), and the Gravad Laks (smoked salmon). We also tried a dark beer that I do not recall the name of. The beer was great. The food left a lot to be desired. The fried pork was tough and salty. The stew was okay, but not great. My friend ordered the smoked salmon and that was good. In retrospect, I think I would have been happier ordering a steak. Overall, we had a decent experience and would comeback for the service and to order the steak or...
Read moreI recently visited Rio Bravo, a restaurant with a Western saloon ambiance that’s been a popular spot in Copenhagen for over 30 years. I tried their all-you-can-eat Danish traditional fried pork slices with potatoes and parsley sauce. As it was my first time having this dish, I didn’t have a reference point, but some Danish companions mentioned the pork was slightly overcooked. Personally, I found the taste satisfactory. The lively atmosphere and friendly staff added to the experience. For dessert, I had the Rødgrød med Fløde—a traditional Danish treat made of strawberries, various berries, and currants with cream—which I thoroughly enjoyed. Given its long-standing presence and unique theme, Rio Bravo offers a distinctive dining experience. However, due to the slight overcooking of the main course, I’m...
