Giannini's New York Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Giza

Spontaneously I decided for ‘Giannini’s’ to dine Italian, which is located on the first floor of the Sheraton Cairo & Casino Hotel.

Well arrived I entered in a spacious elegant, with minimalist contemporary touches combined restaurant which was very appealing. The high celling window front allowed a view of the Nile.

To be honest, I was surprised after the first look in the menu. It was not the usual menu for an Italian restaurant. Lots of dishes with seafood and a very small and not appealing selection. So I ordered two salads, the 'Insalate Mistieanza' and ‚Ceasar's Salad’. Both were prepared with very fresh ingredients, perfectly decorated and presented, and culinary excellent.

I should have read the section “About Us,” where Giannini says that the chefs interpretation and vision is the “modern and authentic Italian cuisine“. Sorry but I did not like the American interpretation. My heart beats for the true Italian “cucina,” known for its culinary diversity. Italians are also very well known for their loyal and faithful assignment to their traditional cuisine and dishes, rather than to a “modern” interpretation.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Giannini's New York Italian Restaurant, and I can confidently say it was one of the best Italian dining experiences I've had! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance set the perfect mood-elegant yet cozy, with stunning views of the Nile that made the evening even more special.

We stopped by Gianni’s at the Sheraton Hotel in Cairo for a quick lunch on our way from visiting the pyramids to the airport, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. From the moment we walked in and explained our time constraints, Amira, our server, made sure everything was seamless.

The food was absolutely delicious—classic spaghetti and meatballs for me, perfectly cooked lamb cutlets for my husband, followed by a heavenly tiramisu. We paired it all with a beautiful bottle of white wine, and the meal truly felt like five-star dining.

What really set the experience apart was the service and the view. Amira struck the perfect balance of attentive without being overbearing, and the view of the Nile from the restaurant was stunning—such a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere.
