Kaya Restoz — Restaurant in Luxor City

Arrived at lunchtime & ordered 2 portions of the 9 shrimp with rice. We sat inside as it was hot outside, however a lot of flies were about. There’s a sign on the wall which says ‘we don’t serve fast food, we serve food as fast as we can’ - we waited a very long time (even though the inside and outside area wasn’t busy). When the food arrived, the rice was stone cold. The tahini was frozen in a pot.

We spoke to a member of staff, who sent the manager.

They took the plates away, we again waited a long time - when food came out, the shrimp had clearly been reheated / under a lamp and were hard and inedible.

The manager seemed more concerned about talking on the phone outside.

The waiting time for the cheque was also long.

I’m glad I was with my Egyptian husband as he was able to speak with them, as it was hard to communicate the problems.

They also only accept cash..which isn’t made...

We spent 4 days in Luxor and had meal only at this wonderful cafe. We ordered kofta, tandoori, mix, mango and guava juice, American beef burger, cappuccino. Everything was vey delicious with generous portions and reasonable prices. There were no any hidden fee or charges. Always we payed the price listed the menu.

The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable.

As I noticed service could be a bit slow when the owner wasn’t present. My coffee was forgotten and I had to remind it a couple times.

But anyway I highly recommend this place to have good and affordable meal with without any...

Excellent service but im sorry to say the portion of the food dont looked like at the menu portion. We saw at the menu, food portion is very big but at the end, order portion served was VERY SMALL. Food ordered took a long time and when it arrived the food served was not heated. Im was impressed because I go here cause I saw the review on google got 4.7 stars but that is not what you thinking it is. That is not fair and that was fake hope for us. I hope the Owner of this restaurant can TAKE NOTE what the best to fix this...
