Ancey Chocolatier — Restaurant in Bonneville

The best macaron I have ever had in my life. The quality of their chocolate and the freshness of their product will surely blow your mind and palate! Ancey Chocolatier’s mastery and perfection were visible in every single bite. It was a very “sweet” part of our short trip to Chamonix. The shopkeeper (I regret not having asked his name as such quality deserves a commendation by name) was friendly and cheerful from the moment we stepped in until we said our goodbyes. The interior decoration also deserves a special attention. It was as though time had frozen in this cozy store in Chamonix with its wooden cupboards and pictures on the walls. Very authentic, truly high quality and a must-visit stop in our next visit...

I'm sure the experiences of other reviewers are true that they have had an excellent experience here, but this was not the case for us. We were looking for macarons to give as a gift when we got home and an assistant here offered us one of the preboxed sets of 12. We thought these may have been packaged that day (yesterday) but when trying them today, all were stale at best, solid at worst. We should have been told they were not fresh like the others. We think we were sold a display set that had been out for days/weeks/(months?) This is a recommendation to not get the prepackaged selections, make your own selection from the beautiful trays...

I entered the store just moments before closing and bought 4 Macaroons, one of them with alcohol for my husband. This is definitely best macaroons I ever ate in my life!! We came back just a few minutes later to buy much more for our journey and it was too late, he all ready closed, it’s our fault we didn’t think about it earlier...
