I awoke on 1/28/25, with a large male staff member standing over my bed. ||I have traveled solo throughout the world and this was one of the most terrifying experiences I have ever had. ||The response from the hotel manager and assistant was;||“No worries”||“It is resolved” ||“Why are you so upset?”||“You seem very upset over nothing” ||||When I travel I have a protocol. ||I am a heavy sleeper and safety is paramount. ||I always put the do not disturb sign up. Then I lock the door from the inside. I then block the door with something that will make noise if the door is opened. ||In this case, I opened the bathroom door which opened outward and let it rest on the exterior door. ||8 am the morning I hear a good bit of noise, however it was rise and ski time so I expected noise. But it continued until I was wide awake. When I turned from facing the outside deck sliding doors, a large man was standing in the archway no motor than 2 feet from me. ||As I lay in bed. ||I jumped up, confused, frightened. ||The man left quickly and I went out into the hall where a young woman from housekeeping was standing. ||I sat in bed shaking. Shortly there after I received a call from Ali the manager asking if “I wanted my room made up” ||When I started to tell him about the incident he quickly shut me down, telling me yes, he knew and it was “all resolved”. I told him it wasn’t resolved for me, that I was upset and felt unsafe. He told me “no worries, no worries, it’s over.” ||I waited to respond and he hung up on me. It took me a moment to even consider that he would have done that. ||I contacted my travel agent, who was aghast and he told me he would speak to the hotel. The hotel was contacted by the travel agency and informed them there was no concern and the issue was “resolved”. ||Several hours later as I excited the hotel, the manager Ali and his assistant Dylan asked to speak with me. We sat in the hotel restaurant where neither could explain why anyone had entered my hotel room. Ali stated the door was unlocked, when I said it absolutely was not, he then stated the door was locked from the inside and maintenance was called. I asked why maintenance would ever be called and he had no answer. When I asked Ali why he would ever hang up the phone on me he stated, “ I thought the conversation was done.” He followed this by periodically laughing. ||In truth, the experience was becoming surreal. If I wasn’t an actual psychotherapist, I would have fallen for their misogynistic gas lighting. Ali went so far as to say, “we know what it’s like to be a woman, a woman owns this hotel.” ||The biggest punch in the gut, as I tried to express the particular concerns of being a solo woman traveler Ali stated (this is a direct quote taken from notes I took during the meeting the hotel requested) ||“You are a strong woman, no? Why are you so worried about a man in your room?” ||I wanted to enjoy my time in Chamonix and I had to decide to put this experience aside or my trip would have absolutely been ruined. ||I would never recommend anyone stay at this hotel. I would absolutely tell them not to due ||to; ||Safety...
Read moreMy daughter is 6 years old, and being from the UK, she has never seen snow before. We had an idea of going away for Christmas and wanted somewhere snowy. We were recommended Chamonix by many people and when searching online for a hotel - this one ticked all the boxes. ||||We had two triple rooms as we travelled with my parents, and despite being there over Christmas, the prices were very fair. ||||We flew to Geneva and used FlixBus from there to Chamonix. The hotel is a short walk (15 mins) from the coach stop - but there are ski busses that pass the hotel. ||||Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the reception staff. We were a little early but the staff showed us to a luggage storage room and we enjoyed a drink in the hotel bar. The hotel bar is very warm and inviting and we thoroughly enjoyed our visits here. ||||When we were given our room keys - we were pleased to find two well equipped, but completely differently styled rooms. ||Our room was a large room with stunning views of Mont Blanc while my parents room faced the front of the hotel. In hindsight I wish we swapped rooms as there’s had a more suitable 3rd bed behind a curtained area which would have been perfect for our daughter. The third bed in our room was very firm and not really suitable to sleep on - but the main beds were big enough for the 3 of us to share. ||The rooms were always lovely and warm, and serviced daily to ensure they remained spotlessly clean. The bath was a little on the small side but it was perfectly fine for the 4 nights we were there. ||||In the morning we used the spa facilities on the top floor/roof. The views from the pool, sauna and jacuzzis were breath taking. We were very fortunate we had a lot of snow for the first 2 days - so everything looked incredible. ||||We didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel as I felt 25 euros per person was very expensive. We are not big eaters in the morning and my daughter only usually has a piece of toast or a croissant - so took advantage of the bakery next door. ||||We hired ski’s and the hotel has a heated ski storage room which was a fantasticly convenient facility. ||||One night we had some extremely loud and disrespectful girls in a neighbouring room - the hotel handled it perfectly and the girl on reception visited them to ask them to be quiet. The same room also were noisy the next night (past 11pm) with loud banging, loud music and shouting - and again the hotel handled it superbly. ||||The hotel is really well located. Close to the town centre and a lovely Christmas market was right outside the doors. ||||We had a magical stay, the snow topped it off. The hotel staff were superb and really cared about the guests experience. ||||We would definitely return if we visit Chamonix again. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making our...
Read moreI booked a room for 01.10.2023-02.10.2023, but my child unexpectedly fell ill. I applied in writing for the postponement of the date and cancellation of the fines. A message came from Booking that "it is possible, but no confirmation has come from the hotel yet." Booking recommended contacting the hotel administration directly. I wrote several messages to the hotel, but did not receive any response. Contacted the hotel by phone. The administrator confirmed that it is possible to move the dates (it will cost 50 Euros) or make a refund. We opted for a refund because we don't know when the child will recover. The administrator confirmed by phone that the money will be returned. I did not receive a written confirmation. I wrote to the hotel from September 29, 2023 to October 2, 2023. He explained the situation. The Hotel administration completely ignored my messages. As a result, only on October 2, 2023, I received a message from the hotel reservation department that "the confirmation period has expired and I have been charged a fine of 116 euros." We really wanted to visit the hotel later, after the recovery of the child, but the administration deliberately delayed the correspondence and did not provide answers in order to collect the fine. The result is a spoiled mood and negativity. No attention and respect for the client. That's why I give the lowest rating. This attitude towards customers is the first time. Such management is a horror and a shame
after reading a number of comments, I concluded that the hotel staff systematically...
