We’ve stayed in Chamonix for 5 days and this restaurant was the worst experience ever. Very arrogant stuff and owner. We were supposed to have a B-day dinner there and we made the reservation on email for 8 pm . When we came they said us that they gave our table, because they were waiting for us at 19:30, even the reservation was for 20:00. But this is not the biggest problem. We asked them to find a way to solve the problem and they were telling us that they have the table, but they don’t have 8 chairs :D and right after saying this, a couple came and told they have no reservation but they want a table for two and they gave the couple a table. So for us no chairs, but for the two people without reservation they’ve found chairs. When I asked about reclamation book, ofc they told they don’t have it, when I told I would find a way to complain about this attitude towards customers, they’ve laughed me in face and told me to do wherever I want. So they ruined our bday mood. Even when we talked to the owner he had the same arrogant and indifferent attitude. One more thing 😃 While waiting to solve the situation , we observed they were bringing food from Josephine, because we had dinner there the previous day, we noticed the dishes were the same and that they were crossing the street with the plates. Very dissapointing, I know they have this attitude because they are sure no matter what they’ll have clients, but I really believe in karma and I hope they will receive what...
Read moreAvoid this place on weekends! The location is beautiful, but unfortunately, the service is not only chaotic but also incredibly rude.
We joined our friends who had already ordered by the time we arrived. They informed the staff that there would be five of us, but the fifth chair never arrived. We asked a waitress (Federica) for one, but still nothing happened. Eventually, I had to get a chair and a menu myself.
We called the waitress and ordered two drinks and oysters. Only one drink arrived. We followed up with both our waiter and the runner who served the drink, but nothing came of it. The oysters never arrived either. Some of our friends had to leave early and asked to settle the bill while we were still waiting for my drink and food.
To our surprise, the waitress decided to cancel the oysters without even consulting us. When we questioned her, she claimed it was “logical” to do so. She kept offering strange justifications for her actions and failed to explain why my drink and food weren’t served. Worse, the waiter was very aggressive and dismissive throughout the ordeal, making the experience even more unpleasant.
Our last day in Chamonix was ruined. I left without a drink, food, or even a single kind word from any of the staff. The service seemed completely...
Read moreHaving been to Joséphine last night and having had such a wonderful experience, considering they are owned by the same person, Rose du Pont was a disappointment. The decor is stunning and the atmosphere is charming. The wine list and food menu are great. The service however, was poor. Where the servers at Joséphine were lovely and friendly, the servers at Rose du Pont were cold and borderline arrogant. My vegetarian curry was interesting. I've never eaten beetroot in a curry before. There was only a little bit of sauce around the outside, way too much rice, bland carrot, undercooked parsnip (again, in curry..?), but tasty roast pumpkin. My husband chose the duck, which came with jus and mash and was very delicious. No veg though. My Chardonnay had a fault, which I pointed out and was laughed at a bit. A difference between old world, where they appreciate faults and new world, where we like clean wines. We left feeling underwhelmed. Such a shame for such a beautiful place. A note to the owner/manager: less staff on a quiet shift makes for more motivation and better service. Everyone tonight seemed to just be looking busy when they weren't chatting or on...
