Marina Caffé — Restaurant in Grasse

I’s been there the night before and everything was fine, had a gin & tonic and everything was good. I went the following asked for a gin & tonic but when they brought it, it tasted like some sort of digestif. I tell the waitress that it wasn’t gin and there must have been some sort of mix up and she goes check and the owner comes to my table aggressively gesturing that he’s not crazy and that he knows what he served. I ask him to smell the drink and that he can take a straw and taste it and he refuses and continues being rude & obnoxious. I ask my friend to taste it to confirm that it is not gin and he tastes it and confirms it. But accidentally drops the glass when he puts it down so the owner turns more aggressive because he thinks I spilled it on purpose. I order a new gin & tonic and the owner comes snd serves it in front of me and the gin tonic is good like the night before. What a pleasant surprise in a tourist city full of mediocre restaurants this establishment stands out from the crowd. Positioned to catch the cool breeze at all times the menu is extensive especially for lunch and dinner with an appropriate breakfast menu. The staff are friendly and welcoming with a wonderful attitude regardless of your ability to speak French..sometimes lacking in other restaurants by the port opposite the Marina. The food is fresh, volumous and delectable on each of my numerous visits with a consistency often sought by experienced diners. I was surprised to see such harsh reviews and would suggest they were misguided..however to each their own opinion. The price is reasonable for the quality offered and the position is outstanding as so easy to find with long trading hours...my suggestion..give this establishment a try..guaranteed...

We came with our family and our little baby, I asked if they were so kind to just give us next to all our orders a tiny bowl of spaghetti for our baby. We also ordered a regular spaghetti dish and asked if they could just leave out 3 or 4 single spaghettis without sauce for the baby. They did not want to do it and wanted to charge me 9 Euros for a kids meal, for a baby who cannot eat real food.

Unbelievable that somebody can be so rude, it is just really unbelievable!

Of course we left.

Now I see all the bad feedbacks, I understand why nobody was in that Restaurant while all the surrounding places had people sitting. Maybe they just do money laundering and don‘t care at all.

But still, you don‘t leave a baby hungry if you have a bit of heart in your body. We took a seat in the next restaurant and all was fine, I would never leave even one Cent in...
