TRUE 500 EUROS SCAM STORY (if you're the owner, just review your cctv)
On 20 August 2025 at around 10am, I went to this boulangerie to buy some bread for breakfast before going to work.
When I was checking out, my purchase was supposedly 2 euros but the cashier (a plus-sized white man with blond hair) keyed 500 euros in the system (a little hard to believe it's an accident isn't it?).
Luckily, I realised it and told him it was wrong. However, he insisted it was correct even after I confirmed with him twice.
I then walked away and only then he told me it's a joke and it's only 2 euros. He only said it’s a joke because he got caught red-handed by me and he’s afraid of facing the consequences if I were to escalate the issue!
Also, why would he have insisted it was 500 euros TWICE instead of just saying it was a joke the first time I called him out (that would be more believable that it’s actually a joke, right?). So, this is definitely a scam!
Afterwards, I bought the bread anyway for 2 euros since I was hungry. Perhaps he saw me as a gullible asian man who could not speak French... I usually don't write such reviews but I'd feel guilty not stopping people in future from getting scammed.
So, to future patrons, please please be careful when you see this plus-sized white man with blond hair, and to the owner of this Boulangerie, please take appropriate action against this guy to protect...

My friend wasn't amused, but he bought it anyway since he was hungry. When my friend reached his office he realised there was an extra pastry the cashier put in, perhaps guilty for what he did!

We were two friendly Canadians 🇨🇦 who could get by with some basic French and the most awful women (the owner and the middle aged barista) literally DROVE US OUT of the cafe, embarrassing us in front of all the other customers. We spent 20€ on some pastries, a sandwich, and an espresso to take away and decided to sit down for a few minutes to enjoy the espresso and have a quick bite of the sandwich. The two women kept shouting at us to GET OUT in French because we were not allowed to eat our take away food there.
This ruined our entire Paris layover visit. We have travelled all over the world and have never been treated like this before. What kind of terrible people would KICK OUT and EMBARASS patrons like this? Absolutely disgusting!
BEWARE also of the owner who will just punch in whatever amount she feels into the register. She will try to scam you and add on a few euros if you're not careful.
Do yourself a favour and go to much better cafes around the corner. DO...
