I’ll start with the reception, which I would rate 9 out of 10. The staff were very friendly and efficient in delivering orders quickly.
Now, about the hamburger:
I chose the “Big Fernand,” assuming it was a signature item since it shares the restaurant’s name. The burger was decent. I usually request my burgers well-done to test the fat content, though I do prefer medium-rare if the meat quality is high. I’d give the burger an 8 out of 10.
About the bun:
The bun was a bit dry. Typically, it’s better when slightly warmed in the same pan as the meat. This bun was also a bit too soft—I’d appreciate a firmer texture. For the bun alone, I’d rate it 3 out of 10.
About the fries:
The fries were the type I enjoy, but they were cooked in oil that seemed to have been used for other foods. This added a hint of flavors like steak, which I could taste in the fries. It would be ideal if they used separate oil for fries. Still, the flavor was okay, 8 out of 10.
I was happy they offered beer, especially IPA, which pairs well with burgers, and it was a quality choice.
Overall:
The price was reasonable for what I got, though there’s still some room for improvement. I’d give them three stars now, but I’m confident they’ll reach four stars soon if they keep up...
Read moreIn photos the Big Fernand burger looks mouthwatering with parts of the pattie visibly rare. On paper too it is temptation - special beef, raw milk cheese. In reality it falls short on flavour, pattie while still a bit pink is definitely past mediun for most of it, not particularly flavourful or possibly under seasoned, the housemade cocktail sauce mild in flavour, and the dried tomatoes distracting from what flavour was there. The fries were floppy, and the coating in generic barely-discernible paprika doesn't add much - and mine came mostly with super short fries that it was impractical to pick up and eat, and trying to save it with ketchup was a mistake - too much sugar in the ketchup. The drink, a citron/lemonade thing was the best part of my meal. I really wanted to like this meal. Overall, I'd eat it if I were offered or someone else wanted to eat there but I think when it's late at night next time I might actually consider trying the burger king on the corner...
Read moreIts okay, when it comes to the smash burger, at first the cheese hits you with a nice flavor (or not) as it tastes unique, then the rest is your typical burger that you might have tasted much better elsewhere. Staff are friendly. Atmosphere isn’t the best, tables not the cleanest, and the general decoration gives off a weird ikea like shop-work shop vibe which does not make sense and add anything to the dining experience. Summary, not impressed nor am I bothered by the experience, simply doubt I would visit again. Can be a good option for budget...
