I recently visited Boulangerie moderne Rabineau and was left extremely disappointed by the service. As a customer, I expect a basic level of consideration, especially when handling a purchase while caring for a child. I bought three items and, naturally, anticipated the need for a bag to carry them. However, to my surprise, after I had already paid, I was informed by the owner that a bag would cost an additional 20 cents.
Given that I had no small change on me and the bakery's policy does not allow card payments for such a small amount, I was put in an awkward and challenging situation, having to manage my child and the bakery items with just one hand. What frustrated me further was the owner's lack of empathy. When I mentioned that it would have been considerate to inform customers about the bag charge before finalizing the payment, the owner rudely retorted that it was my responsibility to ask for a bag.
This response was not only unhelpful, but also reflected a complete disregard for customer service and empathy. It's reasonable to expect a business to anticipate basic customer needs, especially in a scenario as commonplace as needing a bag for purchased items. This lack of foresight and the subsequent rude interaction have led me to decide not to patronize Boulangerie moderne Rabineau again and to advise others to consider this when deciding...
Read moreIn my never-ending quest to discover the finest croissant in Paris, I decided to visit this bakery after learning that they had been awarded the title of the 2nd best croissant in the city for 2023. Let's jump straight into my experience; although I must admit, my findings may not be entirely accurate because I arrived at 11:45, which is not the ideal time for croissants since they are typically baked fresh in the morning. I took this timing into consideration while evaluating. I ordered a plain croissant and a pain aux amandes. The croissant was decent, but it didn't quite reach the level of the best ones I've tasted in Paris. Unfortunately, the pain aux amandes was a bit disappointing – the pastry was too thick for my liking. Despite this, I'm willing to give this place another chance to make a fairer judgment.
I decided to give this place a second chance, and I’m glad I did. This time, I ordered three croissants: plain, pain au chocolat, and pain aux amandes. I came at 9:30 a.m., which seemed like the perfect time for peak freshness. All three croissants were wonderfully fresh and crispy, a big improvement from my first visit. This experience completely changed my initial opinion, and I was...
Read moreThis place is not just for Emily in Paris fans, it literally is the BEST bakery I have been to in Paris and I’ve been to many famous ones already! Honestly I don’t get where the recent bad reviews are coming from especially after reading what happened to the owner via Daily Mail recently, I’m thinking some of the bad comments are either fake or possibly jealousy from competing bakeries? Cause it totally doesn’t make sense. Everything is super delicious and fresh, good service and pastries come up with “—— in Paris” bag as a special treat! I highly recommend the chocolate croissant (I ate 3 in a row!) and the Millefeuilles which are heavenly. I’m usually not a very sugary-type personality but it’s amazing how the pastries can be so delicious without being too sweet. I can eat there all day!! And it’s totally worth trekking to Latin Quarter just for the croissants. I’ll definitely be coming back every time I visit Paris, thank you for the truly amazing experience which represents the authentic art of Parisian...
