24/10/2024 I got to this restaurant with my mom around 9:15 PM. I took my mom there because she likes the series that was partly set there. The place was open that day until 10 PM. When I entered, there were two 2-person tables free at the beginning of the room, so I don't even know what happened next. I went up to the Indian waiter who was closest. I asked if we could sit down and since it was already before closing time, we would eat whatever they managed to serve, e.g. dessert and wine. AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHERE THE OBJECT OF MY DISPUTE IS. This guy, for no reason at all, in a split second started shouting at me and being aggressive (you can tell if the person aggressively pulls both hands back and brings their face closer to yours with obvious evil in their eyes and just because I was in a good mood that day, my unconditional reflex didn't throw my fist in his face!), that "this is a restaurant and if I want to sit down, I have to order a dish". I kept calm because I thought I was here for my mother and even though he was a jerk I would order and stuff something in myself. I only asked a passing waitress (as it turned out later it was Italian) who was the manager, to at least hint that people who don't like people are better off not working in the service industry, but as she said the previous person was the manager🤯🤯🤯🤯. I took the card and even though I asked for 2 glasses of wine right away I was ignored. Since I'm vegan I had to look carefully at the card and to my surprise there was nothing vegan and the vegetarian dishes were constructed in such a way that it couldn't be fixed. But even in Albania, where my diet was difficult, a chef at the end of the world somehow managed to put together pasta with tomatoes for me, and here not only was I in Paris but also in an Italian restaurant🤯. I asked the aforementioned waitress if she could manage not to kill anything so that I could eat something. She must have taken an example from her boss because her reaction was identical, only she shouted to the whole room that: "this is an Italian restaurant and they only eat cheese, milk, eggs and meat. It turns out that I've been to some fake Italy a few times😱 What ignorance, until Italians emigrated to the USA, they ate paper from books because there was poverty, not meat. A book from those times would be called A Million Ways to Serve Eggplant and Zucchini. Unfortunately, due to their impertinence, my mother saw everything and said that it's not worth arguing with such people, because they will bring you down to their level and kill you with experience! We left wishing them exactly as much as they...
Read moreThis was my 18 year old daughter’s first trip to Paris and we were so excited to try this place especially being fans of The Emily in Paris series . we were staying in the 8th arrondissement and took a taxi to the restaurant where we had a 7:00RSVP. We were seated by a very rude individual , they didn’t give us menus for over 30 min and pretty much ignored our attempts to place an order or even ask us what we wanted to drink . The place had 4 others tables being served at the time and they said that’s they are very busy and we have to wait to be served . we waited and when we asked for the menu we were given a chalkboard type menu that had all dishes in some french some Italian. we asked if they spoke english to help us with the menu a bit as the dishes seemed very involved . The man was very rude and said “ no , no english “ with a very snotty face that he made . We had waited all day to eat and were starving but decided to get up and leave as the service was so rude !!!! we were very disappointed and had to take a taxi back to our hotel areas to search for another place to eat!!! Not sure why we were treated that way , in all my visits to Paris I hadn’t experienced the stereotypical rudeness that some refer to other than in this place !!! I am sure the food was good and we are sorry that the service turned us off to...
Read moreAvoid at all cost. We had booked well ahead as I heard it was popular, not least since Emily in Paris was recorded there. The place is muggy, worn down and smelled of old, humid cleaning cloth. Cheap style menu, sticky plastic. The staff is rude, disrespectful and sighing loudly over guests coming in without bookings. We ordered tomato/mozzarella salad and tuna carpaccio as starters. There was a sour taste to the mozzarella and got a bad feeling about the tuna. We ordered medium steak fillets as mains, hoping for the best. But received the worst. Grey pieces of meat, overly cooked and impossible to cut. When highlighting this to the owner (?) he answered in a rude way, saying it was perfect and that they never had any issues. I insisted he’d try to cut it, and he failed, admitting there was a problem. We asked to pay instead of getting new steaks in, and the owner started arguing that we should get what we ordered and that if we were not hungry anymore this was not his fault. Unbelievable. We insisted and finally got the check for the starters and drinks we had had. No apology. Just a very disturbing and awful experience. Don’t ever go. We were so relieved when we got out in...
