My only negative experience in Paris was at Cafe Marlette. I ordered the brunch menu, as did my friend. My boiled egg arrived very undercooked- the white was all translucent and raw and very very unappetising. Compared to my friend's egg, which h had been cooked for longer, I could see mine was not properly done. I am not usually one to complain so I just left the egg on my plate but my friend felt compelled to say something, so she asked if I could please have another egg cooked for longer. The waiter took the egg away and within 5 minutes returned with the same egg, plonked it down on the table and said: "The chef says it's perfectly cooked, you won't get salmonella." Needless to say, I left the raw egg on the table, paid almost €15 for a pastry and drinks and had to go and find breakfast elsewhere. More disappointing than the raw egg was the rudeness...
