Café Marlette - Brunch Montmartre — Restaurant in Paris

My only negative experience in Paris was at Cafe Marlette. I ordered the brunch menu, as did my friend. My boiled egg arrived very undercooked- the white was all translucent and raw and very very unappetising. Compared to my friend's egg, which h had been cooked for longer, I could see mine was not properly done. I am not usually one to complain so I just left the egg on my plate but my friend felt compelled to say something, so she asked if I could please have another egg cooked for longer. The waiter took the egg away and within 5 minutes returned with the same egg, plonked it down on the table and said: "The chef says it's perfectly cooked, you won't get salmonella." Needless to say, I left the raw egg on the table, paid almost €15 for a pastry and drinks and had to go and find breakfast elsewhere. More disappointing than the raw egg was the rudeness...

Greta little spot for brunch, especially being vegan and my partner is not. It's been hard to find places that cater for both, so this was a win. He had the salty bacon pancakes and said everything was cooked perfect, I had the granola bowl with coconut yogurt and their oat flat white was so tasty. The server was great, friendly and really helpful. Outdoor seating for our fur baby as well. The place had really great reviews on Google, so we went to check it out for brunch. The food was indeed very tasty. However, when it came to the service, I found it odd that the family of three sitting next to us was asked several times, whether everything was fine and if they wanted more water, whereas we weren’t even given salt and pepper with our food, nor were we checked on.
