I went to Café Mollien and unfortunately had a very bad experience. Probably because of being close to the closing hours it didn't have most of the options in the menu. From what I could eat, I chose a chocolate cake slice. And my husband chose a coffee. After the waitress took my cake slice, she noticed that was a tiny and the last slice, she decided to put on my plate on the top of the slice I ordered. I warned that the chocolate cake was just for me. When I arrived to the end of the line to pay, the operator charged me a combo plus a chocolate cake slice. They were so disorganized that tried to charge me for another tray, I explained that wasn't mine. After insisting that the other tray wasn't mine, he finally didn't charged me. But he charged for two slices of the cake and I tried to argue that I didn't ordered the second cake to make a combo, it was just the coffee and one cake slice. (Also, there was just one spoon and if I wanted two slices, I could have chosen to taste another flavor). He said the bill was correct and precise, that I wasn't paying nothing wrong. Probably they didn't want to be brothered by someone who wouldn't buy the tiny slice of cake (probably having to throw it away) and when you are an emigrant, that type of situation is incredibly common. I couldn't speak french, I was hungry and tired so I stopped to insist in the true and paid for everything. I was searching for a table and I saw that two near the window were free. When I tried to sit in one of the tables there they said I couldn't, as it was for 3/4 people, not for 2. But I asked again, as really wanted to sit by the light. The man working on the organization said I couldn't again and insisted for me to get out to the other table in a corner, which fit 3. At this moment I just accepted, but the experience of eating a snack during my visit at the Louvre was ruined. I stayed for less than half an hour, which the team keep checking if we had finished. For the whole time and some after, the two tables near the window were empty. And that's how was my visit, eating, paying and sitting where and how much they decided that I should. I wouldn't recommend to visit without speaking french. All Boulangerie and Café's I went during the trip tasted better and people were very friendly. Try another one, specially if it's raining, as it was and you can't see the view outside. But if do, be more direct of your order and don't accept this type...
Read moreThe cafe is conveniently located in the Louvre Museum at the of the painter’s hall. Our family selected the lunch formule at 16,90 EU each, included your choice of a sandwich or quiche, and then your choice of a pastry and beverage. My husband chose the jambon et fromage, sandwich avec un gâteau au citron. I chose the Quiche lorraine and Un gâteau au chocolat. Our kids chose a chicken salad sandwich, chicken and cheese sandwich, chocolate cake, chocolate croissant with almond paste. I really liked my quiche. It was very good. It’s a creamy firm egg mixture. My family also enjoyed their sandwiches.
However, each of us found our desserts to be a little dry. If I had to choose again, I think this time I would have selected the macaron instead of the chocolate cake. But all in all the food was good it was tasty And your pain for convenience and dining inside of the Louvre.
We would all order our sandwiches again for sure.
One very nice note for the staff, they are very friendly and accommodating. I really appreciated that the counter person held the orders until a table was ready. They said they had to wait until someone else left. And then another server cleaned off the table, and then we were allowed to move through the quick...

There were four in our party and after a few hours in the museum we decided to take a brake and this is the only place to have a coffee without exiting so we psyched ourselves up and stood in line (all four of us). This is a one order and fill at a time operation which is completely inadequate for the foot traffic. Seats were constantly full and they refused to open the outside seating. They even roped off the exit and monitored you leaving. Beverage and food service is minimal and expensive. The only reason it is so busy is that it is the only available place to rest with a beverage. Just like with restrooms, they are few and far between with a long line. You are trapped and if you want a rest and a snack this is your only choice. The cafe could be run so much better and be more pleasant for visitors if they chose to make improvements. No choice; however, I would recommend waiting until exiting and going to one of the many cafes in Paris for a much more enjoyable experience and...
