I visited this cafe 30 minutes before they closed. This cafe catches my attention cause they're so famous for their coffee. But I don't think they're worth to be visited again.
I ordered a cappuccino (on the wide pic of the table) that taste good, but has too much foam on it. And I found a hair on my cup. I ask for a change (ofc!), but they didn't apologize at all. When the waitress bring me the new cup, he just said "is it better for you?" Which is polite enough but ofc I prefer an apology for the inconvenience. They're selling pastries from Carl Marletti. Ofc it tastes good. I ordered a choux, I know it's Paris-Brest but the waitress introduced it as profiterole to me. Whichever paris-brest and profiterole are very different. Carl Marletti sells their paris-brest for 7,40€ but Café Verlet sells it for 12,90€.
They are worth 2☆ for the ambiance and the taste of the coffee. But I think my review gives a clear explanation of why they are only worth 2☆.
If you're a tourist seeking french ambiance, this café could be an option, but not for locals...
Read morea really nice cafe, but unfortunately so disappointing. very rude and unprofessional staff. we were in the area and searched via Google Maps for a cafe that offers gluten-free cakes. Usually this works perfectly. Thus, this cafe was recommended to us. On site we asked again to be sure and first we were told that they only offer baked goods. Sure, that's why we are here but are these gluten free because according to Google it should be? The service employee wanted to clarify it, pulled out a tablet, probably researched and then put the tablet back. Then approached us and just walked past us and ignoried us. Strange. Renewed contact was ignored, so we left the cafe again. To be on the safe side, I researched again outside the café and I was surpriesed to see, the entry in Google Maps had disappeared! Since also no other service employee has responded to our request.very disappointing experience. Fortunately only an isolated case. Still I won't reccommend to go there. there are much nicer places in the area with much...
Read moreOnce one of my favorite cafes in Pairs. However, yesterday we were so disappointed with the coffee and the service. We ordered two Cappucino avec du lait avoine. The two cappuccinos had a strange texture and tasted like water. The waitress changed our coffee but it was the same thing. Since the coffee was still undrinkable, we had to ask the waitress to give us two cappucino with normal milk. The waitress was kind and offered two madeleines to us but her French was not enough to communicate. We asked her about the choices of the desserts(since there were 0 info on the cakes), she didn’t understand at first and finally brought the cakes out for us to choose. She explained that there was a pistachio cake, so we took it and it turned out to be a peanut cake…
In a nutshell, we kinda wasted half of our time there waiting for our coffee to be served and we were very...
