Ridiculous SERVICE!
Today is my 3rd visit to this restaurant this month. We reached at 11plus in the morning and the shop is 1/3 full. We are next in line as all customers are seated. A very nice non japanese lady served us and she asked us to choose a table, so we went ahead and got a corner table and started browsing the menu. 2 Chinese female patrons which were sitted before us and beside us were speaking to a japanese waitress and right after, the waitress requested us to swap our table with them. I asked her why should i? She told me that they arrived first and they have the priorty to choose a table (fact is they have already chosen) and now she wanted to sit at our table. Never ever have I been treated like this in a restaurant. I told the staff that they already chosen their seat. Just because they chose the wrong table and suddenly prefer my table, the waitress asked me to give up the table?
The ultimatum is, this waitress presented their case as if we jumped their queue.
We are all seated and browsing the menu, they chose their table first, and then us, so what logic is that?
For example, they chose a parking lot, then they dun like their parking lot, can they ask a later car that parked his/her car to give up the parking lot because they came first?
How absurd! The staff apologised to the other customer. Just because I am unwilling to agree, so it means i...
Read moreWe went to the restaurant in a group of 3 and have been waiting for almost an hour. We do understand that the seats are limited so group of 2 have priorities and some 2 pp did enter the restaurant before we did. However, right before we get our table, the waiter arranged a table for 6 people (whom did not want to sit separately and pointed at a ready to be seated table), which really neglected our waiting time and patience. The waiter neither informed us nor excused for this arrangement, which we felt extremely unpleasant. We sincerely hope that they have better queue arrangement, especially to separate groups of different numbers. We came with very high expectation, but felt deeply offended and also completely erased our good impression towards Japanese.
Unless you would not mind to sit separately, or would not mind waiting for almost an hour with people behind you keep trespassing the queue non stop, or else would not recommend this restaurant simply based on its logistics arrangement.
Customer service is the key of a restaurant, if this cannot be gatekept, regardless how satisfactory the food quality is, we would not visit it again as there are so many alternatives and better place than this...
Read moreI hold too high expectation for this restaurant since I’ve seen a lot of high comments from social network, and finally it disappoints me a bit. It’s still good, but you can find a lot of better Japanese restaurants in Paris with better price and more tasty food.
After we ordered our menu, it took about 45 minutes for the noodle come to the table, and this is when we chose a work day in a not busy hour. The food is not “surprising” but quite “standard alright”, no matter it’s udon, tempura, rice or fried chicken. The sauce is quite tasteless and fried items are too oily. It miss the delicate balance of the food, which is very important in Japanese cuisine. For example, in some Japanese restaurant, a dash of red ginger to balance with beef, or a small zeste of yuzu to balance with the oily soup, or some mashed radish to combine with the salty miso… but I don’t find these kind of special surprise in this restaurant. That’s why the food is ok, but comparing to its high social network reputation and “fame”, it is not a restaurant worth waiting that long time or return...
