I have never experienced such incompetence and lack of service. The waitress (a blonde lady) waiting on the outside area on was an absolute monster, to say the least.
I sat down at one of the restaurant's gorgeous outdoor alfresco tables, waiting patiently to be attended to. Ten minutes went by with no acknowledgment of my presence. As the restaurant started to get busier, a noticeable line formed at the entrance. I managed to get the attention of a waitress. Upon our first interaction, I explained that I had been waiting for a while due to the lack of attention and kindly requested a menu. She rudely replied, in an exceptionally barbaric tone, "You see that crowd? You are not special. What makes you think youâre better than them?" I was taken aback by her rude manner, but I held my composure and attempted to explain that I had arrived more than ten minutes before the crowd. Despite my explanation, I was asked to line up again, which I did without objection.
I waited patiently at the back of the line and was eventually seated after another 20 minutes. I genuinely believe the staff at this brasserie showed preference towards French-speaking individuals. Even after being seated, I waited another 30 minutes, hoping to get someoneâs attention to take my order, but I never succeeded. Eventually, the situation became overwhelmingly frustrating, and I couldnât think of any other way to handle it other than to leave quietly.
I am exceptionally disappointed in the service and level of discrimination I felt from the wait staff at Le Musset. Itâs genuinely upsetting to see such an upscale establishment in a prime Louvre location exhibit such a disappointing level of service (or lack thereof). Please train your...
Read moreI recently visited Le Musset in Paris with my parents, and I must say that our experience was deeply disappointing due to the behavior of the staff. When we arrived, there were no available outdoor seats, so we opted to sit inside and ordered three cappuccinos. Shortly after, two outdoor tables (each for two persons) became available. We decided to move there for a better ambiance. However, when we tried to do so, a server approached us and began speaking to us in English, claiming that we couldn't push the tables together because they needed a passage, which was clearly not the case. I witnessed another couple successfully pushing two tables together for their convenience, and it wasn't obstructing any passage. I politely explained in French (I've been living in Paris for seven years, and my French is proficient) that we were not obstructing any passage. However, he responded rudely in English, insisting that it was not possible. This encounter was humiliating, as everyone around was observing the situation. Fortunately, a colleague of his intervened and assured us that there was no problem in pushing the tables together. I overheard the server telling his colleague in French that we had only ordered cappuccinos, as if that justified their mistreatment. This incident left my parents, who are tourists, feeling unwelcome and discriminated against. It is disheartening that such racist behavior exists in a place like Paris, a city known for its hospitality and diversity. I strongly advise against visiting this establishment with its disrespectful and...
Read moreLe Musset is my go-to spot every time I return to Paris! What's even better, whenever I'm at the Los Angeles airport before departing to Paris, Americans approach me for recommendations about the city, simply because they overhear my French conversations with friends over the phone. This place is a standout, starting with the iconic blue flowers adorning the front, conveniently located just a stone's throw away from Le Louvre and not too far from Jardin des Tuilleries.
I frequent Le Musset for a delightful breakfast spread featuring all the viennoiseries, croissants, pain au chocolat, tartines with fresh baguettes, confiture, and freshly squeezed orange juice. And of course, I can't resist indulging in a classic chocolat chaud â so French, right?
If you find yourself there for lunch, my favorite choice is the Croque Madame, sunny side up with frites or salad. And for all the chocolate lovers out there, you absolutely can't miss their heavenly mousse au chocolat! Recently, I even had the pleasure of experiencing their happy hour in the new room upstairs â it was pretty cool, a DJ was there with people dancing, I might have been lucky to happen to be there that day! Iâve heard they do that a lot!
Don't forget to say hi to the owner, Julien â a funny guy who's always right next to the cashier or outside smoking his cigare! Enjoy some quality people-watching while seated on the beautiful terrace out front while treating yourself to the fino things in life⊠and who knows, maybe we'll bump into each...
