Mediocre mexican food. It’s Paris for god’s sake. Culinary center of the world. Hire a good chef. This is more like a take out joint and the food is just not good. Dried hard tortillas, weird seasoned chicken and chips from a bag. Just not what you expect from a mexican restaurant in rue saint honoré. We’re from New York and we’re used to good high end mexican food, but even tacos from the taco truck are better than this restaurant. The only thing that was so so was the margarita and even that is from a machine and not freshly made. They’re trying to do too many things, speak easy, connection to the hotel next door and run a restaurant. The guy who was cooking had his earpods on and was distracted. Like most restaurants in Paris, the employees are doing the very basic tasks and avoid to walk the extra mile to please the customer cause they’re not tip based. Sell T-shirts, redo the menu, prepare fresh drinks not from a machine, show more mexican hospitality and culture throughout the experience. Right now, I Do not recommend this place at all. Gave them 2 stars and that is...
Read moreCame here on a Wednesday at about 4 pm after visiting the Louvre. It was empty except for 2 other people. Ordered guacamole and chips. The chips were a bit stale, but the guacamole was amazing. I had the chicken tacos, and my wife got the pibil tacos and daughter the beef tacos. Also ordered a chorizo quesadilla. We all enjoyed our food, and they were authentically prepared. Seems like being Paris, difficult to get supplies, because the chorizo was more like sausage and trying to turn it into chorizo made it a bit salty. It was still very good. Jarritos was the perfect drink option. the wife's jamaica was a bit small, but it was good, and I wish they had more beer options. Salsa bar, green salsa was the best, a bit disappointed with Serrano, and the chile oil was not really something I'd expect. Shared bathrooms with another restaurant was a bit confusing to get to but clean. Price is just a bit high, but it's definitely worth coming back for. Thank you and good job with...
Read moreWhile exploring for a place to eat, my wife and I stumbled upon El Vecino. Being from Texas, Mexican cuisine is not foreign to us. The service was excellent, with a warm greeting as we seated ourselves. Opting for simplicity, we ordered two quesadillas – one with beef and the other with chorizo. The beef had a striking resemblance to home-grilled fajitas, while the chorizo, though different, retained its characteristic greasiness, complemented by cheese. Overall, the quesadillas were quite satisfying. The salsas offered a mild spice, and the homemade tortillas added a unique touch, showcasing the diversity of Mexican cooking styles.
Encouraged by the positive experience, we ventured to try the pollo quesadillas, a delightful choice. It reminded me of Pollo Tinga, featuring shredded chicken in a red sauce – not too spicy and perfectly seasoned. The familiarity of the flavors made it a recommendable option for anyone seeking a taste of authentic...
